Fun in Florals

After riding out Hurricane Irma, which hit us in Central Florida on Sunday through Monday, and then having to go back to work on Tuesday (while schools were out all and most businesses were closed), I've been a bit of nervous wreck over here. Driving while lights are out at major intersections and debris everywhere is a hazardous commute. There are so many reports of people losing their lives in the aftermath due to stupid and/or accidental mistakes on the road, with generators powering their homes, and you name it. I'm just happy Friday is here because I really need to lighten the mood around here with some fun in the fashion department.

I found this cute little floral number and wore it out to Kate's Birthday Brunch a few weekends ago.

Irma Update: After The Storm

We are safe and sound. Thank you to all my thoughtful blogger friends who reached out over the weekend to make sure we were safe.

Hurricane Irma Weekend

We spent the weekend bracing ourselves for Hurricane Irma. I got out of work early on Friday to get supplies and be fully prepared for the hurricane. Most of the weekend was spent securing our home, setting up a safe room, prepping food, doing laundry, and making sure all electronics were charged up in anticipation of losing power.

We spent all of Sunday indoors at home just waiting for the storm to hit.

Hurricane Irma devastated several Caribbean islands last week and made her way to Florida over the weekend. At the time of writing this on Friday night, the National Hurricane Center predicted Irma will hit Central Florida on Sunday with approximately 100 mph winds as a category 1 to 2 Hurricane.

August 2017 Recap

What's New With You

Current Updates

If you've been watching the news, you probably already know that Hurricane Irma is heading her way to Florida. We are as prepared as can be with food, water, and other supplies but you just never know how strong it will be.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre

Last week I shared some of our adventures in Denver but knew a separate post was needed for all the beauty Red Rocks has to offer. What a dream venue for a concert!

Backing up to last month when a group of us friends flew to Denver to see Slightly Stoopid at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. We knew we were in for a treat but not hiking up about two thousand stairs.

Long Weekend Celebrations

What an action-packed weekend! Thankfully we have a short work week ahead. A friend from Boston was in town visiting over the long weekend so we definitely kept busy showing him a good time around Orlando. It's always fun playing tourist in your own city as he did the same for us when we went to visit him in Boston back in June.

Denver Travel Recap

The trio of us friends had a blast in Denver all prompted by the mutual love for a band and the fact that seeing them live at one of the most gorgeous venues in the US was on our bucket list. I went to Denver for the first time last year with K and really enjoyed exploring the brewery scene and catching a ballgame at Coors Field yet we never made it to Red Rocks Park which I was bummed about.

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palettes

I'm a huge fan of Marc Jacobs fashion and have used several of their perfumes over the years - Daisy Kiss, Oh, Lola!, Dot, and I'm currently using Decadence.

Back-to-School Throwback

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. I'm joining Andrea and the lovely ladies over at The Blended Blog sharing my answers to the Back-to-School Edition of TBB Asks.

Shine Bright Like a Friday

It's that bright light at the end of the work week tunnel.

After returning home from Denver last week I caught a case of exhaustion and just needed to unplug after work to catch up on some rest. Denver was a blast but the altitude really dehydrates you, not to mention we kept busy on foot for most of the trip and also climbed up the 2 million stairs at Red Rock Park to watch a concert. It was all worth the exhaustion but hopefully this weekend will help me get back to 100%.

Weekend Highlights - Exploring Denver

What a weekend!
It was action packed exploring Denver on foot from morning until late night - shopping, eating, listening to live music on the streets, bar hopping, and checking out all the downtown scenery.

Denver

Happy Friday!

We arrived in Denver yesterday to catch a concert tonight so I'll be disconnected for the next few days.

5 Books I've Read Recently

The Secrets of my Life by Caitlyn Jenner

I've been on a roll (audio) reading books in different genres. I've said it before but it makes my long commute to and from work a lot more enjoyable. I've never been big into books but audio-books have become my jam.

Weekend Happenings

The weekend was a mix of relaxing and fun over here. After work on Friday I met up with K for a quick happy hour drink and then Thai takeout for dinner.

Friday Faves

This week felt like it just dragged onnnnn and my job is by no means boring so I can't explain it but I'm so happy it's Friday and the weekend is near!

Let's get rocking and rolling with some faves from this week.

#GirlBoss - Book Review & Outfit Crushes

I just finished reading #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso, the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal apparel. I actually didn't know who she was prior to reading the book but the title alone drew me in so I purchased it to listen to on my commute.

In her early twenties, Sophia started out by selling vintage clothing on her eBay store named "Nasty Gal Vintage", the name was inspired by one of Betty Davis' songs. After separating from eBay and launching the Nasty Gal online retail website, Sophia built the multi-million dollar brand in just 7 years.

Weekend Happenings + TBB Asks

We meet again on this Monday morning so I hope your coffee is strong and the week goes by quickly. I had a great weekend but it's never long enough, right? I got off work a little early on Friday so I finally made it over to the new Nordstrom Rack to do some browsing and a little shopping, nothing crazy.
