New Summer Workout Gear

I certainly didn't start 2019 right health-wise although I'm not one for New Year's resolutions. I do set personal and professional goals for every quarter of the year (the business side of me, if you will).

Summer Wishlist

Since it's basically Summer temps here in Florida, I have my heart set on a few things for enjoying the sunny days spent at the pool or beach. That doesn't mean we get perfect weather, it's actually a 50% chance of a beautiful weekend or a rainy and stormy one. Thankfully this weekend looks like a sunny one.

Blush Weekend Style

Happy Friday and Spring season to those who get to experience the great weather that comes after Winter. We are experiencing the cool Spring temps in the early morning but it's hot like Summer by noon.

Fall Fashion Accesories

Tomorrow is the official start of Fall and, while it stills feels like summer weather in Florida, I'm already planning all the cute fashion accessories in preparation for the crisp air finally making it's way south.

5 Recent Purchases - For Me

TGIF! It's been a while since I've managed to post on a Friday.

Other than all the random household and pet items I purchase from Amazon, I really haven't done much shopping for myself in the last few months.

Dresses From the Past

I've had this post sitting in my drafts since July of last year. It somehow slipped through the cracks and I forgot about it. Anyways, as much as I'm a jeans and cute top kind of girl, I love dresses for certain occasions. Since it's been a year from when this post was drafted, I've added a few more dresses to the list.

Blushing For Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's and Galentine's Day my lovely friends!

K and I celebrated Valentine's day last night with Thai food for dinner. Our work schedules this week are crazy busy so that was the only opportunity for us to catch up but some fun things are planned for the weekend ahead!

Fun in Florals

After riding out Hurricane Irma, which hit us in Central Florida on Sunday through Monday, and then having to go back to work on Tuesday (while schools were out all and most businesses were closed), I've been a bit of nervous wreck over here. Driving while lights are out at major intersections and debris everywhere is a hazardous commute. There are so many reports of people losing their lives in the aftermath due to stupid and/or accidental mistakes on the road, with generators powering their homes, and you name it. I'm just happy Friday is here because I really need to lighten the mood around here with some fun in the fashion department.

I found this cute little floral number and wore it out to Kate's Birthday Brunch a few weekends ago.

#GirlBoss - Book Review & Outfit Crushes

I just finished reading #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso, the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal apparel. I actually didn't know who she was prior to reading the book but the title alone drew me in so I purchased it to listen to on my commute.

In her early twenties, Sophia started out by selling vintage clothing on her eBay store named "Nasty Gal Vintage", the name was inspired by one of Betty Davis' songs. After separating from eBay and launching the Nasty Gal online retail website, Sophia built the multi-million dollar brand in just 7 years.

Resort Style

Right before we left for Mexico I found this cute fringed kimono at Target and knew I had to have it. The lightweight material along with the floppy hat made a comfortable outfit perfect for exploring the shops in the Playa del Carmen village and then heading to the pool at our resort to relax.

The Little Black Dress

Every girl needs a little black dress or five. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many black dresses I have although many are beachy/casual or maxi dresses. I wanted to share some of the true LBDs in my closet from the past and present.

Then & Now High-Low Hem Dress

I bought this high-low dress back in Summer of 2014 for a friend's wedding weekend in Punta Cana. The material is light and airy and it was perfect for a tropical venue. I wore it to their rehearsal party the night before the wedding.

Festival Style

I don't go to as many concerts and festivals as I used to in the past but last night I booked flights, along with some friends, to Denver to see one of our favorite bands perform at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. It couldn't be more of a dream come true. K and I visited Denver last year but didn't make it out to Red Rocks which was high up on my list of things to do so this year I'm making it happen.

Spring Casual

Fashion inspiration has started to hit home as the warmer days are settling in. As casual and pretty basic this outfit is for a sunny Spring day, it's my definition of comfortable weekend attire.

Fashion Faves & Looks from the Past

Happy Friday!

It's evident I'm not much of a fashion blogger but I do love shopping and fashion in general so every now and again I find some inspiration. My outfits range from beachy to sporty casual and, on very rare occasions, dressy/elegant.

The weather this week almost hit the 90's during the day which has me dreaming of laying by the pool this weekend. I'm in desperate need of some Vitamin D, of course with lots of SPF.

Kimonos, coverups, mirrored sunglasses, and all the cute things in between for Spring (which is like Summer in Florida) are on my mind. The evenings can still be chilly enough for jeans and a jacket.

Looks from the Past

A mix of casual, beachy, and dressy. Can you tell I'm a huge fan of crossbody purses?

Home Style: Furniture & Decor

We finally sold our previous house after four long months and three different buyers going under contract and then falling through for various reasons. It's been quite the ride but now that the weight is lifted I can now focus on fully decorating and furnishing our new house. Over the past few months I've had lots of time to research and visit furniture stores to pick out the pieces I want but then it was a waiting game from there to actually make the purchase. I'm excited that time has finally come. I purchased our dining room table a couple weeks ago but there's so much more we need after selling most of our furniture from the old house.

Hopefully when our house is finally furnished and decorated, I can share some more photos for an inside tour.  I've been waiting for that day for quite a while now!

Swimsuits: Cute with Coverage

My company booked a 3-day cruise to the Bahamas this weekend for employees to relax and vacation after our huge annual seminar last week which tends to get stressful for us organizing the details during crunch time. While I love all my bikinis and even some of the "itsy" bottoms from Victoria's Secret, I went shopping for some swimsuits that had a little more coverage for this company vacation. I haven't worn a one-piece swimsuit since childhood but, with all the cute styles out there now, I'm ready to give it a go again!

Strappy Back One Piece  //  Strappy Back Macrame Monokini

Target seriously came good this year with their fashionable tankinis and one-piece swimsuits (which are mostly all on clearance right now) and Express surprisingly also had some really cute styles that offered coverage.

With Hurricane Matthew now on the radar for this week, I'm not sure if we will even be going on the cruise but I presume it will be rescheduled for another weekend. At this point, I'm more concerned about the Hurricane and what it may bring our way and to everyone in it's path. The swimsuits I bought will be inevitably worn at some point.

Prayers!
