Weekend Happenings

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and is ready for Christmas this week (if you celebrate it). Either way it's a nice time of year to reconnect with family and to celebrate another successful year come and gone.

Friday night was low key around here. Lola and I went to the airport to pick up the hubs after he was gone for a couple weeks and we had a relaxing night at home. We had some wine and watched the movie "Amy" about the life story of Amy Winehouse (thanks to Katie for recommending it).

On Saturday I did a bunch of last minute Christmas shopping and errands before getting dressed to celebrate my birthday (late) with K and some friends including Kate and her hubs. We started off at Tin Roof for a quick beverage and then we went on the new Orlando Eye Observation Wheel that was built earlier this year to catch a beautiful sunset and views of the city we live in.

After the "Eye" we headed to Yard House for some dinner and drinks to cap off the night.

On Sunday morning I finished wrapping all of my Christmas gifts and then we went to Max's 1st birthday party...the cutest and sweetest mannered boy around.

Long Weekend Part 2: Birthday Celebrations

On Sunday was my birthday which meant it was time for some brunch with the girls. I was a little sad K was missing my birthday this year because of work but my girl friends more than made up for it. Kate planned a ladies brunch downtown at one of our favorite spots and we all had a blast catching up. I posted about the rest of my weekend yesterday here.

Kasa Restaurant & Bar has one of the best brunches in downtown Orlando which includes a full buffet, unlimited champagne and mimosas, and a make-your-own bloody mary bar. Their brunch menu is very eclectic and never disappoints so it was the perfect spot for celebrating my 32nd.

Post brunch selfie with the girls.

I got so spoiled with brunch, bubbles and lots of gifts from the girls but I'm loving my birthday goodies from Kate.

I also love all the birthday shout-outs and throwback tributes that I got from my girl friends on social media. That and the brunch with the ladies made for an amazing birthday this year!

K and I will be doing a late birthday celebration this weekend so I'm looking forward to that and him returning home from work travels.

Cheers to another year!

Long Weekend Part 1: Work Holiday Party Plus Some

Such an epic long weekend for my company holiday party and ringing in my 32nd birthday with friends. My husband was traveling for work so Kate stepped in as my date for my work party at a Universal Studios resort on Thursday night. Luckily they gave us Friday off because lots of wine was had! The night consisted of dinner, wine, karaoke, dancing, wine, casino table games with funny money and more wine.

On Friday morning I went to brunch with some coworkers at Hash House a Go Go which was amazing and much needed! I've been dying to try out their brunch menu. The portion sizes are out of control so I had leftovers for days.

On Saturday night I went out with my friends from college visiting from near and far which we'd been planning for months. We met up at a sushi restaurant downtown and then rang in my birthday at 12 o'clock at a bar downtown before calling it a night like the old fogies we are. ha!

Sunday brunching for my birthday happened which I'll cover tomorrow since this post has gotten long enough. Luckily I took this morning off of work to use up the remainder of my PTO and slowly wean back into the work week after all the celebrations over the weekend.

Weekend Rest Up

The weekend was perfectly relaxing and I got to catch up on some much needed sleep so I don't have a whole lot to share. We were supposed to go to Ft. Lauderdale to visit some friends but decided against it since we traveled to New Orleans last weekend and really needed some downtime.
On Saturday I finally got started on my digital photography course (online) which I can already tell is going to be intense considering my schedule is already packed full with work and blogging. Later in the day we went downtown to celebrate my girl friend's birthday.

K and I got some Thai food for dinner and the rest of Saturday night was spent watching the UCF game at home and snuggling with the wrinkly girl.

Sunday morning was rainy which was perfect for sleeping in. The rest of the day was spent blogging, food prepping, watching football, and cleaning. I did a couple hours of the photography class and also Skyped with my best friend. We just got the photos from her wedding back in February which I love although I absolutely hated how the makeup artist made me look like a drag queen.

So thankful for the relaxing weekend before more busy weeks ahead. How was your weekend?

Weekends are best spent with Friends

Another relaxing, productive, and fun weekend for the books. We finally had a few breaks from the crazy rain that's been lingering the last few weeks so took advantage of some outdoor brunching and fun.

On Friday after work I met up with Kerri and some other peeps at The Porch for some happy hour and end of the week unwinding.

After happy hour, I picked up some takeout Vietnamese dinner and went home to hang out with K and Lola for the rest of the night. We watched the movie The Switch with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman (2010) and relaxed for the rest of the night.

Saturday was a great day to catch up on some sleep after the busy work week. It was also an exciting mail day. My first Amazon Prime Pantry shipment arrived plus all the fabulous goodies from Amanda's giveaway which were all gorgeous and I got to wear out to brunch the next day!

The rest of Saturday was spent being productive around the house - cleaning, laundry, exercising, food prep, etc. in preparation for our guests visiting next weekend.

On Sunday it was time to celebrate Kate's birthday with some brunch and mimosas downtown at 310 Lakeside. It was such a fun time catching up with friends despite it being a million degrees outside but we were just thankful the rain didn't interfere!

Weekend Happenings

Hey loves! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

On Friday I had a lunch date with Kerri and Kate which was fun catching up with the ladies at one of my favorite Thai restaurants. After work I went for happy hour with coworkers and the rest of the night was spent relaxing at home with K.

Saturday was spent being productive around the house and then out and about for some swimsuit shopping at Victoria's Secret, lunch with K at East Coast Wings, and then some grocery shopping scoring some BOGO Shocktop Belgian White beer. I also finally caved and signed up for Victoria's Secret Angel card. It only took me about 10 years to decide but I'm loving all the extra coupons.

Later in the evening I went to a coworker's housewarming party which was fun hanging out with everyone outside of work. I came bearing wine and homemade artichoke dip.

On Sunday, K and I headed to Mount Dora, which is a quaint city one hour outside of Orlando, to do a day trip and explore.

We walked around in the 100 degree weather and finally settled for a beer and live music.

On the way home from Mount Dora, we stopped off in Sanford to meet up with Pamela, Kerri and Kate to celebrate with the birthday girl and have a couple drinks. Happy official birthday today Pamela

Such a fun weekend! I'm also super excited this is a short work week before I fly out to the west coast to celebrate our anniversary (late) and 4th of July weekend.
