Trinidad & Tobago Trip: Part 1

Last week Monday I flew into Trinidad which is where is spent the first part of my trip and also where my parents live. I got to accomplish everything I had planned with hardly any extra time to spare.

Monday:
We arrived around dinner time so my best friend and her husband picked us up from the airport and we went for dinner at Mandiero's Peri Peri Grill. That was my first time trying Portuguese flame-grilled food and it was excellent.

Tuesday:
We went the beach with friends to hang out and soak up some sunshine on my pale skin and then stopped at the lookout on the way home to catch some breathtaking views of Trinidad's north coast.

Later that night (which was also St. Patrick's day) we went to a pizza restaurant for dinner to celebrate my best friend's birthday. After dinner we stopped off at one of the few Irish pubs on the island to have a couple drinks for St Patty's and to hang out for a bit before calling it a night.

Wednesday:
We went to lunch with my parents, visited family and did a few errands during the day.

In the night, I had a fun blogger dinner meet-up with Kay and her friend Alicia. We went to Samurai for sushi and wine which was amazing! The food was awesome and the company was even better. We stopped off at a new bar called Buzz for a couple drinks after and had a blast chatting.

On Thursday morning, K and I headed over to Tobago with one of my girl friend's and her baby girl for the wedding of a lifetime but this post has become long enough so I will have to do a part two.

Phew, I'm tired from all the traveling and need to catch up on some rest this week and not to mention blogging before I leave this weekend for a work trip...I know it's crazy!

Weekending: Relax & Refresh

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't say I was entirely productive but I did get some much-needed rest as well as some fun out of the house with friends.

Friday night was perfectly relaxing spent at home. We made some dirty martinis, watched movies, and hung out with the wrinkly girl.

On Saturday night we went to Kings Bowling on International Drive to celebrate two birthdays. They rented a private section of the bowling alley with two lanes and we had dinner & drinks to celebrate. I suck at bowling but it was a fun time nevertheless.
Don't mind the guy in the middle. haha

After bowling we continued the festivities at a new bar called Tin Roof for some live music and drinks. I really liked the atmosphere of this bar and the music was awesome!

Of course, shots were lined up for the two birthday boys.

What a fun night out!

On Sunday we relaxed at home before heading out to the movies to finally see American Sniper. Excellent movie yet sad and surreal. I definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

Oh and here's Lola...she hopes you have a great Monday!

Friday's Favorites: Christmas is Near

Happy Friday!

I'm so relieved this is the last full week of work before the holidays begin. I usually travel to visit my family and friends every other Christmas (and this would be the year) but I have to head there for two weddings next year so another plane ticket is just not doable.

I'm totally okay having a quiet Christmas at home to spend time with Lola while she's a puppy and also have Christmas dinner with K's family. My baby girl is growing every week and I don't want to miss it.

I had a late birthday dinner last night with the ladies. It was fun catching up over some tapas and wine. My girl friend who is also pregnant and due next week made it out. She amazes me!

Between my husband, girl friends and coworkers I was spoiled with so many lovely gifts. I got 3 new Alex and Ani bracelets to add to my collection. The puppy paw is from Kate which was on my wishlist and I love it!

The Tinkerbell bangle was from our trip to Disney over the weekend and K got me the starfish one for my birthday since he knows I have a weird love for starfish.

I also got these Hello Kitty pajamas from Japan in Epcot last weekend.
Yes, I'm 31. I like comfy and warm (maybe not bright pink) pajamas. I was trying to get them in navy blue but they didn't have my size and K was getting impatient. Ta da! I have the ugliest cutest PJ's ever. They are warm and I like them (behind closed doors).

OK, so no more birthday talk until next December. Joining Amanda for Friday Favorites.

Disney Recap: Magic Kingdom & Epcot

I wanted to get my Disney recap out before the craziness of the holidays begins so I'm double posting today.

About a month ago K and I bought Disney seasonal passes to have in time for my 31st birthday last weekend and to enjoy all year round since we live a short drive away. (I'm especially loving forward to the Food & Wine Festival next year.) I took Friday off of work and we headed to Magic Kingdom in the morning.

We walked around to admire the all Christmas decorations, went in several shops on Main Street and went on a few rides including Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Peter Pan's Flight.

Then it was time to head over to Epcot via the monorail and I was able to snap this photo of the Spaceship Earth ball.

We started in Canada and went around to Japan, Italy, Norway, China, Morocco and all the other countries in between ending at Mexico.

We had beer in Canada, warm sake in Japan, and some amazing wine in Italy.

We enjoyed the sunset on the lake and stopped off at several of the shops including the Mexican market which has a bunch of fun stuff like piñatas and sombreros etc. Thankfully we avoided the tequila bar!!

After our drinking around the world adventures, we were ready for some dinner so picked the Marrakesh restaurant in Morocco since that just sounded exotic and it was.

It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday!

Weekending: Disney, Birthday & Wedding Fun

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

My weekend started on Thursday after work. K took me out for dinner and bought me a cute little cake to celebrate my 31st birthday.

Sorry for being MIA on Friday as I took the day off to go to Disney with the hubby and have a little staycation at a resort nearby.

We spent most of the day at Magic Kingdom and went on a few of the main rides and rollercoasters. I'm going to post more about our Disney trip later this week since it was a fun-filled adventure and I got tons of photos.

We ended that day at Epcot to explore all the different countries and try different drinks and food from around the world.

We had dinner at Morroco's Marrakesh restaurant which was amazing!

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed our nighttime balcony view of the resort before crashing.

On Saturday (my actual birthday) we explored the huge resort and had some poolside lunch before heading up to the hotel room to get dressed for our friend's wedding.

The wedding ceremony was outdoors in the garden and the weather was perfect to tie the knot.

We had some fun in the photobooth taking funny photos with friends but also got a nice shot of our group looking "normal".

On Sunday, we checked out of the hotel and went for lunch at Seadog Brewing Company. We've been wanting to check out this place for a while now and were pleasantly surprised to find out they have $2.50 mimosas and bloody mary's on the weekend.

I had an amazing birthday weekend filled with so many fun festivities. Thirty one is treating me really well so far!

How was your weekend?
