The Little Black Dress

That little black dress. Every girl needs one. It's your go-to dress that's flattering and comfortable yet stylish. It's your plan B dress when all else fails. It's your saving grace.

It doesn't have to be expensive or a designer brand. It just needs to fit your body in a perfect way that makes you feel confident. The best thing about your little black dress is you can dress it up with any color and combination of accessories/shoes/purses transforming it into a new outfit every time you wear it.

All of these are from H&M and are very affordable under $40.

Share The Love: Kat's Selfie Tips

I love the idea of Pamela's new Share The Love linkup so I wanted join her today and feature another blogger's post that I enjoyed reading. Kerri from Cheshire Kat is not only a great artist but also writes really fun and creative posts and is an in real life friend of mine who's a blast to hang out with and enjoy some laughs & drinks.

A Little Glitter

She recently posted some Selfie tips that I thought were super helpful so go check out her post and learn a thing or two. Selfies are one thing I still haven't mastered and rarely post on my blog or social media. I mean, I have posted them before say right after a hair appointment when I was having one of those "I feel beautiful" moments but overall I suck at taking selfies. Or maybe I just don't like photos taken so close up to my face? Anyways, I think Kerri convinced me to give it another shot and maybe just maybe I'll post more selfies in the future.

Happy Tuesday!

Rainy Days & Sunday Brunching

Last week's rain continued into the weekend so it made for a fairly relaxing weekend spent at home on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday after work I went to the Asian market to pick up some ingredients for the chicken low mein recipe I posted about on Friday. I loved how cheap everything was and will have to go back to make more Asian inspired recipes.

K and I had some happy hour drinks at home on the patio, dinner at home from Publix deli and then watched the movie Drunk Wedding from Redbox which was pretty funny.

On Saturday I slept in until 11:30! It was exactly what I needed after the lack of sleep all week. That's the latest I've slept in in a very long time. It was storming all day again so I was productive around the house - laundry, cleaning, meal prepping etc. I put together all the chicken low mein ingredients in the crockpot and let dinner cook itself. It came out amazing!

The weather looked like this most of the weekend but I'm sure Lola was happy to get lots of quality time with us.

On Sunday the weather was still shitty but it held up for us to enjoy some brunch to celebrate one of my best friend's birthday. We all met up at a KASA downtown and enjoyed a really nice brunch buffet along with some mimosas.

Friday Favorites

What a week! Let's just say I'm thankful the weekend is here. The weather this week has been rainy and extremely humid every afternoon which doesn't make for great hair days or getting things accomplished outside. Thankfully I work indoors and that's all that got done.

My coworkers and I took advantage of Uber's ice cream delivery special and enjoyed Kelly's homemade ice cream earlier this week.

We also got all the fun photobooth pictures from the work charity gala I attended over the weekend. I love how my female coworker's sign in the last photo says "I'm hers" and it's pointing at me. Clearly wine was involved.

Favorite Recipe:
Lo mein is probably my favorite thing to order when we get Chinese food so this slow cooker chicken lo mein recipe immediately caught my eye and I need to try it asap.

Favorite DIY:
You can't really tell it's a wine rack so I'm in!

Doggy Treats:
Lola loves her treats and toys from Chewy. Most recently she got the Kong Squeezz Ring and Natural Balance Dental Chews which she just devours.

Quotes of the Week:
Some Alex & Ani inspiration which particularly applied to me this week.

My first Shop My Closet Sale went live yesterday with lots of affordable goodies including designer shoes, purses, accessories, and more so hop on over and check it out!
