Monday Mingling: Weekend Fun

The Monday after the daylight savings time change is always a rough one. Waking up "earlier" for work is not my idea of fun...but cheers to another fun weekend!

On Friday night, we went out for dinner and a much needed dirty martini. The perfect way to wind down after a busy work week.

After dinner, K and I thought it would be fun to take a trip to the liquor store and stock up for the week. You would have thought a hurricane was coming through but no, this was simply out of boredom.

On Saturday I picked up some sushi for lunch and went to get my nails done to match my outfit for a party later that evening.

I'm love how the turquoise looks on my nails!

On Saturday night we met up for a girl friend's birthday dinner.

After dinner, a group of us went out for a couple drinks. With the time change happening that night, we were able to get an extra hour of drinking since bars usually close at 2am.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Enjoy the rest of your week!

High Five For *Fantastic* Friday

Fridays are always fantastic, right? I definitely live my life for the weekend - no alarm clock, no traffic & no crazy set of "rules", also known as a job.

Joining Lauren for High Five for Friday.

1. To make the week a little more interesting, I snuggled up on the couch after work and enjoyed some white wine goodness.
2. My favorite coffees and teas that help me get through the week.
3. My "exciting" 9 to 5 view. Explains why I need the coffee/tea and wine to get by?
4. Excited to see my girlfriends tomorrow to celebrate a birthday and catch up over dinner and drinks.
5. K and I experimented making Chicken Marsala for dinner this week and it came out super yummy! It goes well with either pasta or mashed potatoes.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

There's No Such Thing As a Free Lunch

Well that proved to be slightly wrong today. A new Italian restaurant called "Italio" opened in the neighborhood and gave away a free meal to everyone that visited today.

I'm joining Jamie today for the What I'm Loving Wednesday Link up.

With that said, I'm loving that I didn't pay a penny to get this Italian bowl of goodness for lunch today with my work buddies!

I'm absolutely loving all my new blog followers and can't wait to get to know all of you better! The blogging world has really welcomed me with open arms and I'm officially hooked! I'm so glad that my friend Kate @ Green Fashionista convinced to start blogging :-)

I'm loving these dream-catcher earrings.

And this coral Kate Spade purse.

I'm so excited that we booked our anniversary trip to go explore NYC this summer. (Thank you again my lovely bloggy ladies for all the advice!)

Finally, I'm always loving my hubby.

I hope YOU have a fantastic week!

Travel Tuesdays: Negril, Jamaica

I'm excited to join Helene's brand new Travel Tuesday Linkup today. If there's one thing I love, it's  traveling although I feel like I've barely but a dent in the map but I'm working on it. If only we were all rich and didn't need to work to make a living?
Helene in Between

Today I decided to talk about my trip to Negril in Jamaica. Maybe because I've been missing sunshine and warmth for the past few day or maybe simply because it was absolutely beautiful.

My cousin decided to have a destination wedding at the RIU Negril resort last summer so it was the perfect excuse for our family to reunite from different parts of the world on a sunny all-inclusive resort in Jamaica.

This was the view we woke up to every morning.

Jamaican Jerk Cusine.

We were pretty excited about staying at an all-inclusive resort but we didn't expect them to take it as far as having liquor dispensers in the hotel rooms (which the housekeepers refilled daily).

Negril is known for it's 7 mile beach so we had two tour guides take us on a boat cruise around the Negril coast.

We stopped at Jimmy Buffet's Margartiville to get a drink and check it out. While returning back to the boat, a local offered us 'Shrooms. Yeah that really happened....and no we did not accept. (That was the only negative experience on this trip)

Our last stop was at Rick's Cafe which is a must-see for anyone visiting Jamaica. They have food, drinks, live music and cliff-diving. We didn't jump off the cliff but instead watched the locals do it.

Our tour guide did some flips off of the cliff for us to get on camera.

We had a fantastic time in Jamaica and cannot wait to go back again soon! I can't wait to read about everyone else's travels.

Monday Mingling: Weekend Recap

I had a pretty relaxing weekend after traveling out of town the past few weekends so I don't have a whole lot of exciting stuff to share. I did get to catch up on my beauty rest which was fantastic ;-)

On Friday night K and I went out for our usual happy hour cocktail and dinner. We always cook dinner at home during the week so it's nice to eat out on the weekends.

We decided to stop at a bar before heading home and I ran into this good looking silver-haired guy.

On Saturday we went to a small party over at our Neighbor's house.  She made this awesome Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate cake, which was to die for.

A group of us played Cards Against Humanity, which was really funny and can also quite disturbing at times so it's not for the faint of heart.

On Sunday, K and I cleaned the house and lounged around in our PJs all day. It was cold outside and we didn't feel like doing too much. Later in the evening we grilled some Ribs and I baked a Corn pie casserole for dinner. I posted my Corn Pie recipe a few months ago here.

And that's all for my weekend!
I'm super excited to be a sponsor on OneHaloGirl.com this month. I hope everyone has a great week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey hey! I'm Joining Jamie today for the WILW Linkup.

I'm loving the weather today in Florida ~ Sunny and 75 degrees is perfect!!

I'm loving my new necklace from KOJewelry. Wore it to work today.

I've finally recovered from our Girls (Shenanigans) weekend in Tampa. What's not to love abou that? Yup, it proved that I'm no longer 21 and it now takes several days to recover.

Love this customized Tervis Ice Bucket. It was given as a gift at the bridal shower over the weekend. Such a cute idea!

I'm loving these outfits I found recently on Pinterest.

Finally, I'm always loving my hubby.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Being a Tourist in NYC

Hi Everyone!

So I have started to research and plan our anniversary trip to New York this summer and I could use some advice from anyone familiar with the city. I have never been to NY and K has only been for business so we want to have the whole tourist experience in 3-4 days.

I have two friends that live in Manhattan and both girls advised me against staying in Times Square area because "it's too crowded" and "crazy expensive".  Funny enough, I think we actually want to stay in the heart of all the action and experience the craziness of NY.  Less walking and shorter taxi rides to get to the main attractions sounds better to me... but maybe I'm wrong or missing something?

I've found a cute hotel in the heart of Times Square. Now I want to get some advice on the must-sees and dos for a tourist in NYC. I'm interested in anything from pubs/bars, food/restaurants, shopping, shows, monuments/museums and any other attractions that aren't crazy expensive.

I know I want to see the obvious - Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty, Central Park...Any other tips or advice would be mucho appreciated :-)

Thanks!
I'm joining Lisette today for the Just Because Linkup.
