Weekend St. Patty's Festivities

Morning everyone!

Well my headache from Saturday's St Patty's festivities is still going strong over 24 hours later. But I think it was worth it. All 15 Irish car bombs and all.

On Friday night, we went out to an engagement party for a friend. This was the huge suprise that we all knew about but couldn't share until her boyfriend proposed on Friday evening. I also happen to work with this lovely lady so keeping such a big secret from her was extreme torture.

On Saturday I baked some chocolate chunk cookies and picked up different Irish beers to bring to a St Patrick's party that night.

Before the party, K and I went out for dinner at a new restaurant that opened up in our neighborhood. The Lobster Mac n Cheese was delicious and, of course, I had to get a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives!

We then changed in our green gear and joined the rest of our friends to celebrate St Patrick's day.

We had a blast catching up with friends.

And completely overdid it with the Irish Car Bombs. Hence looming hangover ;-P

Super fun weekend!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Cheers to the Weekend!

Hi Everyone!
Looking forward to seeing how you all plan to celebrate St Patrick's day this weekend.

We'll be celebrating on Saturday night with some friends, green beer and Irish Car Bombs. I've been trying to think of a festive dish I can make to bring to the party. I am not exactly the artsy type that can pull off making fancy desserts that you see on Pinterest but this recipe for Guinness Brownie Bites with Bailey's Cream Cheese Frosting looks awesome.

K and I also plan to get started on our latest home improvement project - a DIY kitchen backsplash.
I'm hoping it looks something like this.

And finally, tonight we are going to a surprise dinner to celebrate a top secret occasion. I'll be able to share more details after the secret has been disclosed tonight.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

Throwback Thursdays: St Patty's Style

I didn't have time to scan some old pics so in honor of St Patty's day this weekend, I was able to find some pics of previous St Patty's celebrations (thanks to modern technology aka Facebook).

Last year we went to a house party with some friends and celebrated with several Irish Car Bomb shots.
(We all look possessed in this picture thanks to the iPhone camera.)

Previous years we've gone bar hopping downtown and I'm pretty sure we had several Irish Car Bombs.

And back in college we went to the local Irish pub and drank green beer and/or the cheapest drinks we could get our hands on.

I actually still have the above green shirt which says "Shake Your Shamrock". I think I'll wear it again this weekend to keep the tradition going for St Patty's Day ;-)

What are your plans for St. Patty's day this weekend?

Todays Trends: Customize Your Glasses

I was recently contacted by Firmoo to get a free pair of eye glasses to review on my blog. I opted for the sunglasses since I live in Florida and pretty much need them to survive.

If you haven't heard of Firmoo yet, they are an up and coming eyeglasses store online that offers fashionable and affordable prescription and non-prescription eye-wear.

I chose Wayfarer style frames with 60% grey tint.

The Firmoo wesbite allows you to customize the style and color of your frames & lenses and provides exact specifications for all frames so there is no uncertainty with sizing etc. You can also upload a photo of yourself to see how the glasses look on you before you purchase. The pricing is also very affordable compared to any (brick & mortar) optical store I have been to before.

Just so you know, Firmoo is offering First Pair Free to all my friends/followers/family. Basically, you can get any pair of glasses for free by paying shipping only. I think this is a pretty good deal.

I'm very happy with this newest addition to my accessory wardrobe and will be wearing them a lot  since they can pretty much match most of my outfits :-)

As I mentioned above, I was given a free pair of sunglasses from Firmoo to review on my blog but did not receive any additional compensation. All opinions expressed above are my own.

Travel Tuesdays: St. Augustine, FL

I love reading about other people's adventures so I look forward to this Linkup every week.

One of the more historical cities I visited in Florida was St. Augustine and I was intrigued by the charm of this town.

- We visited the Castillo de San Marcos Fort.
- We walked through St. George St. (downtown)
- We ate lunch at the Columbia Restaurant - around since 1905.

Monday Mingling: Weekend Fun

The Monday after the daylight savings time change is always a rough one. Waking up "earlier" for work is not my idea of fun...but cheers to another fun weekend!

On Friday night, we went out for dinner and a much needed dirty martini. The perfect way to wind down after a busy work week.

After dinner, K and I thought it would be fun to take a trip to the liquor store and stock up for the week. You would have thought a hurricane was coming through but no, this was simply out of boredom.

On Saturday I picked up some sushi for lunch and went to get my nails done to match my outfit for a party later that evening.

I'm love how the turquoise looks on my nails!

On Saturday night we met up for a girl friend's birthday dinner.

After dinner, a group of us went out for a couple drinks. With the time change happening that night, we were able to get an extra hour of drinking since bars usually close at 2am.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Enjoy the rest of your week!

High Five For *Fantastic* Friday

Fridays are always fantastic, right? I definitely live my life for the weekend - no alarm clock, no traffic & no crazy set of "rules", also known as a job.

Joining Lauren for High Five for Friday.

1. To make the week a little more interesting, I snuggled up on the couch after work and enjoyed some white wine goodness.
2. My favorite coffees and teas that help me get through the week.
3. My "exciting" 9 to 5 view. Explains why I need the coffee/tea and wine to get by?
4. Excited to see my girlfriends tomorrow to celebrate a birthday and catch up over dinner and drinks.
5. K and I experimented making Chicken Marsala for dinner this week and it came out super yummy! It goes well with either pasta or mashed potatoes.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

There's No Such Thing As a Free Lunch

Well that proved to be slightly wrong today. A new Italian restaurant called "Italio" opened in the neighborhood and gave away a free meal to everyone that visited today.

I'm joining Jamie today for the What I'm Loving Wednesday Link up.

With that said, I'm loving that I didn't pay a penny to get this Italian bowl of goodness for lunch today with my work buddies!

I'm absolutely loving all my new blog followers and can't wait to get to know all of you better! The blogging world has really welcomed me with open arms and I'm officially hooked! I'm so glad that my friend Kate @ Green Fashionista convinced to start blogging :-)

I'm loving these dream-catcher earrings.

And this coral Kate Spade purse.

I'm so excited that we booked our anniversary trip to go explore NYC this summer. (Thank you again my lovely bloggy ladies for all the advice!)

Finally, I'm always loving my hubby.

I hope YOU have a fantastic week!
