Home Tour Through My Lens

We moved into our home just over 6 months ago and it's taken so long to put a home tour together so technically our home is no longer new! The main holdup with furnishing and decorating the house was because our previous house took a lot longer to sell than anticipated so I had to be patient with my spending. I was just praying for it to be fully furnished before the holidays when my family came to visit and it was completed just in the nick of time.

The Empty House
I've told everyone the open floor plan and kitchen were the two things that sold me on this house immediately.

Shout out to Home Goods, Target & Kohl's for having cute decor!

A Cozy Weekend

A cozy and relaxing weekend it was with some pampering and productivity in there. On Friday I went to a new Chiropractor to get adjusted and hopefully fix some of my back problems.

Saturday was pretty overcast so I did some online shopping on Amazon and got a bunch of stuff done around the house. K and I then headed out to do errands and grab some delish lunch at Marlow's Tavern.

On Sunday I went out shopping for some home things at Kohl's and Home Goods and picked up a few beauty items at Ulta. Plus I got my new booties in the mail (I have the same pair in gray) so I already know they're super comfortable.

I finished off my little Sunday outing with a massage at Massage Envy to use a gift certificate I got for Christmas. I ended up signing up for a membership which includes one massage or facial per month so I will be taking full advantage of that!

Hopefully between the chiropractor and the massage membership, my back will begin to feel better again.

The rest of Sunday was spent being cozy on the couch catching up on some shows minus the fact that Lola thinks the couches are all hers. Too spoiled!

Linking up today with the lovely Biana.

Lucky Friday The 13th

I've always considered Friday the 13th a lucky day because I was born on the 13th so, in a sense, I wanted to reverse superstition and turn it into a good day. I've had many birthdays fall on a Friday.... which you have to admit is better than a Monday!

Today I feel lucky that I have no major plans or obligations for this weekend so I can focus on getting organized around the house and with my blog schedule. I have so many fun yet unfinished blog posts that need to get published already.

Here's some random happenings from this week...

I met up with Kate and Baby Fashionista on Tuesday for lunch to catch up and also so I could spend some time with Serena who is such a smiley doll and the cutest lunch date!

On Wednesday I shared the details of the Dancing With The Stars Live show we went to over the holidays and was a fantastic production.

I started reading The Couple Next Door this week and I've reached to the part where the plot thickens. The beginning was mind boggling but now it has me in such suspense so I can't wait to continue reading/listening via audiobook.

Yesterday evening I met up my girl friend at our favorite sushi spot that we've been going to for years. It's kind of a tradition for us but now we both have busy schedules so it doesn't happen as often.

A relaxing weekend ahead means lots of snuggles with Lola, who photo-bombed quite a few photos while working on my "home tour project" (coming to you next week).

Enjoy the weekend and I hope today is a lucky day for you!

Dancing With The Stars Live in Orlando

When I heard ABC's Dancing with the Stars show was doing a nationwide tour and coming to Orlando I knew it would be a fun show to go see during the holidays. I don't follow the show on TV much but seeing it live was a whole other experience that we all enjoyed, even the guys.

The tour features Season 23's winner and Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez along with some of the finalists including Lindsay Arnold, Sharna Burgess and Val Chmerkovskiy.

The live show had every type of ballroom and modern dance seen on the TV show including group performances, romantic duets, contemporary numbers and original pieces created specifically for the nationwide tour.

With all the fancy lighting and movement of dancing it was tricky capturing good quality photos so some of my photos don't have the best clarity but can still get a good enough idea of the details involved in the production.

After winning a gold medal in Rio and an individual silver medal on the beam, Laurie Hernandez went straight to the ballroom to compete on Dancing with the Stars where with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

The DWTS tour is still going on through February 14th in 43 cities across the US so if you're interested in seeing the show you can check the tour schedule on their website: http://dwtstour.com.

Weekend Happenings

Hello all! I'm sure everyone is trying to get back into the swing of your work and life schedules as the holidays have come and gone. I kept super busy during the holidays so relaxing weekends are much appreciated around here and that's exactly how it turned out.

On Friday night, K and I went for dinner and happy hour at Bar Louie and then spent to rest of the night relaxing at home since I was pretty exhausted.

We watched the movie Snowden which I fell asleep half way through but finished watching the rest on Saturday morning. I found it was very interesting to see everything that happened behind the scenes.

Saturday was cold and gloomy so it was perfect to sleep in a bit before getting productive around the house packing away Christmas decorations, cleaning and reorganizing.

In the evening the neighborhood ladies planned a sushi & wine night out. It was freezing (for Florida's standards) but we bundled up and headed out for our girls night. A few ladies bailed but the four of us had a blast feasting on sushi and chit-chatting the night away.

We walked to another bar to have some martinis and played around with some SnapChat filters that were hilarious.

We then called an Uber to go back to our neighbor's house where the guys were playing poker and hung out there for a bit. That night was the extent of my weekend fun.

Sunday was another chilly day and perfect for relaxing and working on my "home tour" project for the blog. Here's a sneak peek.

I made use of our ham bone from Christmas (which I kept frozen) and put this Slow Cooker Ham & Split Pea Soup in the crockpot to cook for dinner. Perfect for a chilly night.

And that's all the happenings that happened over the weekend!
