Europe Travel Planning

I started planning our Europe trip in November last year after we scored super cheap tickets flying into London. The 6+ months of planning has paid off with all planes, trains, hotels, tours, etc booked and confirmed.

Random Life Lately

Blogging has been a little spotty for me recently as I've had very little to say. I have been busy studying for some Google business certifications that are useful for my job and starting a small business on the side, which I will share more details when it's finally launched.

Travel Carry On Essentials

Happy Friday!

So I think only Kate knows this life update but I'm starting a new job on Monday! I'm super excited about it because it's a career advancement with better benefits and overall work environment. I'm definitely going to miss my coworkers but, when an opportunity like this falls in your lap, it was a sign to move on and upwards.

With that being said, I've done a little weekend travel before things get busy. Most recently was my trip to Houston which I posted about on Wednesday.

Life Lately

I had some fun plans lined up for Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday but caught a stomach bug and was curled up in bed until 10:30am on Sunday. No fun at all!  K went out for the birthday celebrations and had a blast. I guess the silver lining is that I got lots of rest since life lately has been insanely busy at work.

2018 Travel Planning

Traveling is my passion or at least all the experiences that come along with it. Discovering new cultures, trying the food, exploring architecture, and learning the history of these places. This year I'm a little short on PTO from work since we spent New Year's and the beginning of 2018 in beautiful Tobago after celebrating Christmas with family in Trinidad.

Friday Faves

As always I'm relieved it's Friday! I can't even complain that I had a crazy week or anything because it was quite stress-free for a change. I'm just looking forward to a fairly quiet weekend with no big plans or traveling so I can enjoy some downtime at home.

2017 Travel Planning

The only trip we have booked, signed, and sealed is Boston in May but otherwise K and I have just started planning our one big trip of the year and some smaller trips to cities around the US.

2016 was a year filled with lots of travel adventures from Jamaica to Nashville and Canada to the Bahamas plus a few other fun places in between (recaps one / two / three) so I plan to check off a few more of my bucket list travel destinations this year. These are the places on my radar for 2017...

Boston
The trip is booked and accommodations are confirmed but I've yet to start researching things to do or planning any sort of itinerary.

Ft Lauderdale Beach
This is not a new destination for us but we're thinking of returning to enjoy the beaches for our anniversary this summer.
Most recent trip to Ft Lauderdale.

Europe
This is a vague one because we're still figuring out what countries/cities to visit but the travel dates have been decided on so far.

Houston
One of my close girl friends is moving to Houston this year so I'm hoping to visit her but this is not a definite travel plan so far.

Chicago
Another city we've already been to but K wants to return for his birthday and to visit a friend.

Austin
Austin is the other option for K's birthday which falls on a long weekend and is my personal preference since it's a new city to the both of us.

Charleston
I have my heart set on Charleston for my birthday weekend but this could change between now and December, although I highly doubt it will.
