H54F: Girls Weekend

Happy Friday! So excited the weekend is here :-)

1. Excited for our girls tripped planned to Tampa on Saturday. We're headed to a bridal shower downtown Tampa then booked a hotel room so we can go out bar hopping in the night. 

2. My festive nails for the weekend. Bought these colorful nail art stick ons from CVS.

3. Love my new Coral peep-toe wedges that I got on sale from Kohl's.

4. Thai food = delish. My team and I went out for Thai lunch today. Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp is awesome!

5. K and I are going with his company to a hockey game tonight. I'm not exactly a huge hockey fan but can't beat free tickets and drinks on his boss ;-)

Super Bowl XLVII Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and a not-so-terrible Monday!

On Friday night K and I went on a dinner date which is our favorite thing to do on a Friday. I had a pretty Berry Mojito to unwind after a long work week.

On Saturday we picked up our weekend guests from the airport and caught up at home for a few hours. Then we all headed out for a fun night out on the town.

 We went to Universal's City Walk and hopped around to all the bars which each have a different theme of music - Reggae, a Dance Club, a Karaoke bar, an Irish Dueling Piano bar and lots more. It was truly one of the funnest nights I've had in a while!

On Sunday morning, we drove out to the coast to drop our guests off at the Cruise ship port since they were leaving for the Bahamas. We had lunch with them at a local beach restaurant/bar and then said our goodbyes.

We headed back to town for a friend's Superbowl party on Sunday night. Everyone brought a different dish and some drinks and we even had some cake to celebrate a friend's birthday.

It's February already...That's kinda crazy!

T.G.I. Fridays

Hey Hey!

Better late than never! Here I am for my usual Friday Funday in the blogosphere. I had a long, crazy day at work which led to a headache but my brain is feeling a whole lot better after dinner & a nice fruity cocktail with my hubby!

#1: The sunset in my neighborhood was beautiful this evening. Remembering to enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate the beauty of mother nature.

#2: Superbowl is this Sunday! We'll be watching it with food, friends and cold drinks. Loving the festive deviled eggs dish which is perfect for a Superbowl party.

#3: Enjoying my newest Yankee candle tonight ~ Cranberry Chutney smells delish!

#4: Sooo I won my first blog giveaway! Yay! The Domestic Sweetheart contacted me to let me know I was a winner of the BluApple Giveaway (it helps to keep your fruits and veggies fresh for a longer period of time). It arrived today so I'll be doing a review soon!

#5: The Tropical Berry Mojito from T.G.I. Fridays = Delicious! It made my stressful Friday a whole lot better.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm chugging coffee like my usual Monday morning self but it's actually Hump day so I guess I should be thankful for that!  Joining in with Jaime for What I'm Loving Wednesday. 

I'm loving that I finally got my sushi fix last night with some lady friends.

 I'm loving that the Super Bowl is this weekend and we have some fun things planned to celebrate.

I'm super excited that I'll be flying home to Trinidad in 9 days to play Carnival with all my girls. My costume is black & gold but it's a bikini not a monokini. 

I 'm loving that my flu shot was free of charge so hopefully I stay clear of any sickness for my trip and, well, all together.

 

I'm loving the new scent Secret Wonderland from Bath & Body Works. (It's new to me at least). I also love Moonlight Path.

I'm loving these Pinterest finds ~ already thinking of Summer!! (Although it never really got cold in Florida this year).

Finally... I'm extra LOVING that I just bought tickets to Slightly Stoopid's May 2013 show in St Petersburg, FL.  I can't wait!

January Finale Weekend Recap

I'm never a huge fan of Mondays but it is fun recapping about the weekend.

On Friday night we went to dinner at Bonefish Grill to use the $50 gift certificate I won. We ordered our favorite Bang Bang Shrimp which is to die for!

Ater dinner we decided to have a relaxing night at home so we just watched movies at home and sipped on some red wine

On Saturday I did some errands and then got a Sunless Spray Tan. I liked the Tanning salon on Facebook so they gave me 1 week of tanning and 1 spray tan for free. Sweet deal and I look soo much better with a tan!

 

I then picked up lunch for K and I at Panera and got a yummy pastry for free with my Membership card. 

Saturday night we went out to a friend's going-away party. We started the night at a nice restaurant on the golf course . I ordered a Caprese Salad with Blacked Chicken which was delicious.

 I also ordered a strawberry mojito which are sooo good. I need to find a good recipe and start making these at home.

We had a great time catching up that night with friends over cocktails. 

On Sunday we slept in and then I went out to get a much needed Mani & Pedi. 

On Sunday night K and I whipped up a dinner feast, which I blogged about last night. We had Kielbasa for an appetizer and for dinner we cooked Chicken Kabobs on the grill and baked corn pie and corn bread muffins.

High Five For Friday

Yay for another Friday!

As always, I'm looking forward to sleeping in this weekend. We have a going-away party to go to on Saturday but overall it should be a pretty relaxing weekend, which is totally fine with me!

#1: Bought a pink girly hand mixer for a friend's bridal shower this month.

#2: Green tea with Jasmine has been my best friend since I think I'm coming down with the flu :-(
#3: It's Girl Scout Cookie time! Have you placed your order? My favorite are the Thin Mints and Caramel deLites.
#4: Healthy dinners at home are the best. Tilapia is so easy & fast to cook it's ridiculous!

Facts of Martini-Loving Me

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to join in on Whitney's Facts of Me Blog Hop.

   Sooo let's see....   #1: Dirty Martinis with blue-cheese stuff olives are my favorite. I'm also a big wine lover too (red or white).   #2: I'm infatuated with Asian food (Thai, Sushi, Japanese, Vietnamese etc. etc..). Many of the local Asian restaurants know me by name & know I'll be ordering the "usual".   #3: K and I met at a bar. So, yea it does happen. Mutual friends did introduce us though.   #4: My life is planned by writing lists. I have to write down my to-dos for the week or nothing will get done. Or, I mean, I just won't remember to do sh*t.      #5: My late grandmother was the love of my life. As you can see, she had a great sense of humor :-)

#7: I was in a British movie when I was 9 called The Humming-Bird Tree.   #8: I've never broken a bone or gotten stitches..and hopefully that stays that way..   #9: Beer & wings at a sports bar wins my heart any day over getting all dolled up to go to a fancy club. 

  #10: I have two closets full of heels that I never wear. I always end up choosing to wear flip flops or comfy shoes. I keep buying these sexy looking things that "will look great with that dress" but they end up just building dust. It's a serious problem :-/   #11: I love anything to do with Buddhism. It's not my religion but I'm just drawn to many of the beliefs & quotes. I also have several Buddha statues decorated throughout my house.

Happy Friday everyone!

I ran across the Nail Files Linkup today and thought it would be fun to join in. 2012 was really my year of experimenting with different color combinations and funky styles.

I think my favorite was black nails with hot pink on my ring finger.

I also had sparkly nails for Christmas and NYE.

 BUT I recently removed the gel and polish to give my nails a breather so this is what I've been rocking for 2013 so far :-(

I'm already itching to try one of these styles I found on Pinterest for 2013.
