I love seeing all the new flowers blooming around town. We don't have blue bonnets like Texas but I love these purple flowers, whatever they're called. My garden needs some work in the flower department which I should have done this weekend.
The weather forecast for Saturday was supposed to be rainy all day so we cancelled our plans to head to the beach before it gets up to 100+ degrees in Florida. Of course, it only sprinkled for about 10 minutes so I went to the pool for a few hours to take in some rays and listen to my book.
I tried this Spiked Seltzer for the first time and it's the perfect refreshing pool drink (gluten free with only 5 grams of carbs).
I just started reading/listening to The Street, which is different to my usual style book but I'm not hating it. I'm only on chapter 4 so we'll see how it pans out.
Lola got a new Coolaroo outdoor pet bed, which is perfect since she likes to lay out in the sun. This is the XL size. She probably would have had more than enough room with the large. Oh well, she enjoyed some sunshine on Saturday.
Sunday was gloomy so I caught up on blogging, cooked up Eggs Benedict for brunch, got some things done around the house, and then took Lola out with us to Ellipsis Brewery since we were feeling a little bit of cabin fever at this point.
Coconut curry chicken was simmering in the crockpot for dinner (similar recipe) followed by some delicious vanilla flan for dessert made by my neighbor.
Great way to end the weekend with our bellies full, catching up on some TV and early to bed #BecauseMonday.

ReplyDeleteA perfect weekend indeed! It was supposed to rain all day here yesterday, but didn't start until 8 PM lol!! I'd pick a pool day to enjoy a book and relaxing any day of the week! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

ReplyDeleteYuM, egs benny, my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had such a rainy weekend, but at least you had fun at the pool and got a chance to relax for a bit! That bed for Lola looks amazing! We might have to look at one for Willie since he likes to sunbathe as well!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect, low key weekend! Miss Lola is too cute, reigning over her backyard kingdom! :)
ReplyDeleteWe had that same sprinkle of rain Saturday too. Sorry you had to cancel beach time! Sounds like a great easy weekend, which I am dying to have soon. I need to get Ginger a bed like that!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the hard sparkling waters! I tried the White Claw ones back in March for a wedding & currently have the Henry's in my fridge. So good & refreshing!
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year. Looks like a great weekend! Those are always my favorite kind :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend, even if you did cancel your trip to the beach. I'm loving all of the flowers during this time of year too and lola looks so comfy on her new cooling bed!
ReplyDeleteThe pool and that drink sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday! The constant weather changing forecast always messes with you this time of the year haha
ReplyDeleteCheck out Lola on her new bed - adorable! Saturday's weather was weird for sure, but Sunday was a washout. Hoping for some sunshine this weekend <3

I'm pretty sure Lola's sun bed needs to be in my life. How relaxed does she look?? Love. We seem to have skipped spring in Dallas... a little sad about that, but prefer it to the stupid cold, I suppose. ;) That seltzer looks like a refreshing spring drink!
ReplyDeletesummer. Summer drink. Too much complaining about spring, lol.
