Then & Now High-Low Hem Dress

I bought this high-low dress back in Summer of 2014 for a friend's wedding weekend in Punta Cana. The material is light and airy and it was perfect for a tropical venue. I wore it to their rehearsal party the night before the wedding.

I've learned my lesson from wearing maxi style dresses in tropical destinations. They are hardly breathable on your legs so the hi-low hem is perfect for some air circulation.

I even shared a post about High-Low Dresses right around that time in 2014. I guess that was my fashion hype although I still have so many of those dresses hanging in my closet and luckily most of them still fit.

Andrea also coincidentally featured the same hi-low dress right around the time I was in Punta Cana. In her true fashionista form, she styled it so perfectly with a turquoise necklace and neutral shoes and purse.

Fast forward 3 years to when I hosted a small party for the girls a few weekends ago to celebrate the first pregnancy of a special lady in our group. The gender reveal hasn't happened yet, although Kate and I seem to be unintentionally wearing colors that suggest a certain gender BUT we are both wearing pink sunglasses so there's no biased in my opinion!

I went searching for this dress online at Kohl's but of course it's no longer in stock however I did find some cute hi-low alternatives perfect for Spring and Summer.

  6. I 100% agree with you about wearing maxi dresses in the humid and tropical heat! It makes things very unbreathable! But a hi-low dress seems like the perfect alternative, not to mention it's a great staple in your closet too!
