Friday Faves

On Fridays I like to reflect on the positives from the week - special occasions, people that make me happy, fun events, things I think are humorous or worth mentioning, and many random favorites sprinkled in between. K has been gone on a work trip since Tuesday so I'm looking forward to spending a relaxing weekend with him since I'm sure he's exhausted.

This week I enjoyed...

Celebrating My Dad
Happy 61st birthday to my Dad! We chatted on the phone since he lives in Trinidad so I couldn't physically celebrate with him but I promised him a nice steak dinner when my parents visit us later this year. My mom threw a dinner party for him this week with their close friends.

Supporting Local Businesses
I'm lucky there are so many mom & pop type restaurants and local coffee shops near my office. When I find places I love, I become a regular there and they eventually know my name and really value you as a customer. In my opinion, that experience is so much better than going to eat at an "Applebee's".

Ladies Night
On Wednesday night I met up with one of my favorite girl friends for some catching up over sushi and wine. It was a nice mid-week break and much needed girl time.

Cute Photos on Instagram
As an English Bulldog mom, I follow a few accounts on Instagram that are focused on English Bulldogs or Bulldogs in general. Photos like these melt my heart and seeing cute bulldog puppies gives me "puppy fever" but then I remember Lola is a handful enough and needs ALL the attention.

Sweet Surprises, and Sweeter Friends
Mother's Day was last weekend and we didn't do anything special. I mean, Lola is my baby but we celebrate our parents since there are no kids in this household. So when an unexpected package arrived and I opened it to find the most beautiful "Dog Mom" mug from Andrea, I was in complete awe/shock/excitement and all the heart eye emojis.

Andrea, a mother of three boys, thought of me on Mother's Day? You just can't find a sweeter and more genuine person than her! This is a true testament to friendships built purely through blogging. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing, thoughtful, and supportive Andrea has been to me...and we've never met! We will have to change that soon...

With that said, cheers to friendships, our families, fur-babies, and the weekend ahead!
