The Calm Before the Hurricane

It's scary knowing a Hurricane is coming your way especially when the weather reports have been changing by the hour. I've been through several Hurricanes in Florida but Dorian is turning out to be the most unpredictable and, at this time, devastating to the Bahamas.

As I mentioned on Friday, you just have to be prepared for the worst with a Hurricane Survival Kit and evacuate when needed. It's actually very nail-biting because a hurricane's exact path is technically unknown despite the weather forecast.

All the worries aside, we enjoyed this long weekend at Lido Key Beach Resort on Florida's west coast with a group of friends and their kids.

Miss Lola even got to tag along as it's a dog-friendly hotel.

I'm so glad we didn't cancel because the weather was sunny and beautiful all weekend other than a small downfall of rain on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday night we all went out for dinner in St Armand's at Speaks The Clam Bar. Delish food and a cool concept of craft cocktails, fresh seafood, pasta made right on the spot, and then a huge Italian twist to the menu.

So happy I got to spend the weekend with good friends and their cute babies.
We expect Dorian to hit Central Florida sometime on Tuesday so I'm writing this post ahead of time.

  3. This has been such a weird storm, but I'm incredibly thankful that it seems to be shifting away from us. Love that you guys were able to still have a fun getaway at the beach, and how fab does Hilary look? And of course Miss Lola <3

  4. I've been thinking of you girls all weekend/week. I'm so nervous for you. I can't even imagine how stressful it is to just wait and not know when it's going to arrive and how bad it's going to get. <3 Stay safe and good luck. (You know I love a good Lola pic!)
