The
weekend was a great one. Lots of self care and pampering, a little
online shopping/browsing for holiday gifts, and a fun Friendsgiving
dinner to cap off the weekend.
Saturday
I spent a couple hours at Massage Envy getting an hour-long massage and then a relaxing/rejuvenating facial. I also Skyped with my cousins and sister in Canada later that night as they were all together for a little cousins party
Sunday
Early to rise because of Daylight Savings confusion. Got all the clocks changed, a few loads of laundry and some blogging done before heading out for a mani and pedi at Polished Nail Bar, a new spot close to home. I don't think I've ever had so much pampering in one weekend but it was perfect before the busy weekends begin.
My neighbor's hosted a Friendsgiving dinner on Sunday night which had a huge turn out with 38 adults and 13 kids all contributing to copious amounts of food and drinks along with 3 fried turkeys.
Nothing like a food coma to put you to bed early!

Favorite Food from The Thanksgiving Meal?
Homemade turkey stuffing has always been my favorite and now my MIL's broccoli casserole (recipe coming soon since we made it for the Friendsgiving dinner yesterday)
What one thing in Nature are you most grateful for?
That's tough to answer but, since we're on the topic of everything Fall, I'd say the beautiful foliage that comes with this season (which we don't really get it Florida so I guess that makes me appreciate it more)
Pumpkin Pie?
Yes please! And Pecan Pie too
Traditional Cookbook?
Nope family recipes for most side dishes and we've created our own recipe for cooking the turkey
Oven Baked or Deep-Fried Turkey?
Oven Baked or Deep-Fried Turkey?
We own an oil-free turkey fryer which makes the best turkeys and cuts the cook time down significantly, not to mention the calories

Of course, leftovers are the best

ReplyDeleteTalk about a fun Friendsgiving event! I can't even imagine all the food that y'all must have had for that many people! We got the oiless fryer last year and it was such a game changer! We still had delicious fried turkey, but it was less calories but still tasted great too!
