Lido Key Beach: Anniversary #8

Wishing the weekend was longer so we could have celebrated our wedding anniversary for more than one night at the beautiful Lido Beach Resort.

On Saturday morning we made our way over to the west coast of Florida arriving later than planned because of traffic and accidents on the highway. Once we finally got there we had some food and drinks at the Tiki Bar and relaxed by the pool for most of the day.

Our room wasn't ready til after 4pm, which was a set back because we were baking in the sun and really wanted to enjoy what we paid for. While our hotel room and the view from our balcony were gorgeous, I was underwhelmed by the service at the front desk telling us we'll just have to wait for the room to be ready.

The beach front balcony was key to watch Florida's beautiful west coast sunsets, even though my pictures don't do it justice.

On Sunday morning we relaxed by the pool and I finished my book Robin, before getting showered up for Father's Day lunch.

We met up with my in-laws at Mr and Mrs Crab for lunch, chosen by my FIL. It was fun catching up with family and indulging in some awesome seafood before hitting the road to head back to Orlando.

Joining the lovely Biana sharing my weekend whereabouts.

  1. I'm sorry to hear that they wouldn't accommodate you guys any earlier, but of course knowing your personality I know you didn't let that stop you from having a good time! Wishing you a very happy 8th anniversary girl!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  4. Your room was so gorgeous and that view, omg! That sucks you had to wait so long for it to be ready though, that’s pretty bad customer service. They could have at least comped you a drink or something! Happy anniversary!

  7. Happy Anniversary! I hate late check in times. I understand that if they are booked up and need to clean all the rooms...that takes time and all. But most places can make some kind of accommodations! The room looks nice after you finally got in though! And your food...yum!

  8. Happy Anniversary! I hate when rooms aren't ready in time, they really need to do something for the delay. Pictures never do sunsets justice for some reason.

  9. What a great spot to celebrate, those views are gorgeous! But booo to bad customer service, it's almost unheard of to have to wait until 4:00 especially if you're only checking in for 1 night. Happy Anniversary! <3
