Playing Tourist in Houston

I had a blast visiting friends and exploring Houston last month. We didn't do any of the real touristy things like museums or aquariums but more checked out the local scene with a few stops to see some sites unique to Houston like the Water Wall.

I stumbled upon my first Sprinkles ATM although I hear there is one here in Orlando.

Lee and I did shopping at Paper Source and I wanted to buy all the cute things.

Geoff drove us through downtown to see all the large buildings and get a feel of Houston city life.

Nice dinners at night with Lee and Geoff.

We visited different breweries and restaurants during the day and enjoyed the sunny weather outside.

Saw cute business concepts like a Flower Truck where you can assemble your own custom bouquets or floral headbands, etc.

Caught sight of some amazing street art. I always love finding art murals in different cities.

Visited the "We Love Houston" sign like a real tourist with the CityScape in the background.

And then stopped by to see the Beer Can House which Ripley's Believe It or Not estimates that over 50,000 cans were used to build and design this unique monument.

Experienced my first Margarita Drive Thru. I don't know how this is legal but it was delicious!

Geoff treated Lee and I to some pampering at Bliss Day Spa. A nice pedicure and foot massage was something Lee really needed being 7 months pregnant. This is a really cute spa with complimentary cocktails, cookies, coffee, etc.

After brunch and some more exploring on my last day, we lounged by the pool before it was time for me to head to the airport.

Good times with amazing friends and a much needed catch up with Lee before baby girl arrives in early June!

  1. I love Houston! I haven’t been back in years so I haven’t seen any of those wall murals and I definitely don’t remember the water wall. I think I need to go back soon!

  2. Aww this made me miss Houston a little bit! You did so many fun things! I feel like whenever I go back now I just do all of the things that I miss about living there rather than experiencing new things. I've only see one of the things you saw, the water wall. Maybe I need to start going down more than once a year haha. Glad you had such a fun time & got to do & see so many cool things!

  12. Paper Source is the most dangerous place on the planet. When I go in there, I SPEND money. Thus... I try not to go in there. ;)
