Highlights from Mexico

Hello lovelies!
I've been away for a while but it feels good to be settled back home after four amazing nights in Mexico. We flew back home on July 4th which was full of delays in both Cancun and Orlando airport. Luckily Cancun airport is gorgeous with lots of shopping and restaurants. Orlando baggage claim was not so fun. Sitting on the floor and not being allowed to use your phone or electronics for over an hour because of thunderstorms and lightning outside was torture. The bitter part of a very sweet vacation in paradise but let's focus on the positives.

I probably took over a thousand photos so I wanted to share the highlights and a quick recap of our trip to Mexico.

The Gorgeous Resort
We stayed the The Royal Playa del Carmen and I can't rave enough about how amazing this resort is from the comfortable room to the delicious cuisine, the friendly service staff, and all the other amenities on this pristine resort. It was everything and more than I expected and definitely the most gorgeous all-inclusive resort I've stayed at to date.

Private Jacuzzi
When we arrived a complimentary bottle of wine was waiting for us along with a huge Jacuzzi in our hotel room which was so unexpected! I guess I didn't research enough about the hotel rooms ahead of time but this was pure luxury.

Local Shopping
The all-inclusive resorts I've stayed at in the past on different islands were kind of in the middle of nowhere so I loved the fact that Playa del Carmen has a safe shopping village full of restaurants and tons of local shops. I definitely bought lots of souvenirs and possibly a few bottles of fancy tequila.

Foam Party
The events schedule at the resort was choked full of fun entertainment but I had a blast at the foam party in the pool on our second day. The music and entertainment/dancing from the staff really made it a fun experience even though I stayed on the outskirts of the foam!

Exploring Cozumel
This was not at all planned ahead of time but we knew we wanted to go on at least one excursion. Our usual favorite is a catamaran cruise so you can view the island from the outside looking in. We've done this in Barbados, Jamaica, Punta Cana and most other islands we've visited.

When we found out there was a ferry that takes you over to Cozumel and we could rent our own vehicle to explore, we were sold. An excursion that we could do at our own pace was just the adventure we were looking for. We rented a buggy and drove around the island making stops at several places to catch the views, have lunch, and just explore.

Hands down one of the best vacations I've ever been on and we couldn't have picked a better all-inclusive resort in Mexico. K and I are already planning to visit again...pure bliss!

Next week I'll be sharing more details of our adventures in Mexico. I think everyone knows travel posts are one of my favorite things to share on my blog.

Enjoy the weekend!
