Weekend Whereabouts

Oh Monday, you come to soon!
Thankfully the past few days were spent relaxing a little and being productive A LOT with deep cleaning the house and staging it to the best of my ability for potential home buyers.

On Friday afternoon after work, K and I met up for a quick happy hour downtown before heading to a little restaurant close to home for some pizza and wings. I don't think we've ever been such fat asses on a Friday night before but it was a nice casual change of pace. I spent the rest of the night at home sorting through and purging all unneeded belongings in anticipation of our move in a few weeks.

On Saturday I probably spent another 5 hours going through drawers, closets and cupboards to get rid of unnecessary things we've collected over the years. Ten or so large trash bags were filled and I was finally able to shower off the dust and venture to Publix to pick up some groceries and dinner.

That afternoon I started researching things to do on our trip to Denver later this month. I have a few things in mind but was underwhelmed by the options in the visitor's guide I ordered online. I guess I'm not so much of a museum and art type of person and like to go where the locals go to explore, hear live music, and just have a good time. Feel free to send suggestions my way!

Sunday was a full day of girl time with the bestie, starting off in the morning with some yoga in the park downtown. After an hour of some serious sweating in the sun, we walked over to the Farmer's Market to cool down with some fresh coconut water and live music while browsing about 50 local vendors.

C and I had lunch at my favorite teahouse and then went to the spa to relax and get pedicures before doing lots of shopping and errands. It was a busy but fun day together working out, getting pampered, and shopping til we drop.

  5. Go you getting the purge on--it feels so good and less stuff to move later! Denver sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. I haven't been there since I was a teenager so I can't offer any advice but it IS a beautiful city!
Hope your Monday is off to a good start!

  8. Sometimes I love moving just because it gives you an excuse to purge all the random stuff you've collected over the years. But I hate packing. Your Sunday sounds perfect! Love the yoga in the park! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  10. Isn't it crazy how when you are about to move your suddenly are able to give up your sentimental attachments to all this stuff that you weren't able to get rid of before?! Haha! Sounds like you were super productive. I have never been to Denver myself, but my coworker went out there last week for an inspection and stayed the weekend and said he had a lot of fun. He did a brewery tour of all the local breweries there and said he ate a few good restaurants. He also saw a baseball game while he was out there.

  11. I love how you set up your Sunday!

I'm not big on museums either. I am a wanderer and a tourist in other cities!

  12. Your Sunday sounds fabulous! So glad you girls had the perfect Sunday-Funday, especially with yoga in the park. And I hear ya on not being much of a museum person on trips either. Denver is known for their breweries and hiking trails, so definitely look into those instead and of course check out a Rockies game if they're in town that weekend. I can't believe we'll be there about 2 weeks apart from each other!

  13. The purging and staging your house when trying to see is definitely the hardest part, but at least that means that you'll be moving less things later on down the road! Your Sunday sounds absolutely fantastic! I love when I have the option to get pampered!

  14. I totally skipped reading blogs on Friday, but YAY on the new house this is so exciting girl! Purging is time consuming, but the perfect time is when you're getting a new house. Yoga in the park sounds so awesome too. I haven't been to Denver besides the airport, but if you get a chance to head to Pike's Peak for some hiking. I would also try Trip Advisor on different things to do?

  15. Totally lying if I said I didn't troll your comments to get any ideas for Denver - we leave for a trip out there a week from today. Can't wait!! We are definitely going to go to a Rockies game, check out the Coors brewery, and maybe take a drive to Garden of the Gods. Any other ideas you think of - pass them my way :)

  20. The Farmer's Market looks so cool! - love the coconut water! I can only imagine how much work it is to prepare to move, but it probably feels so satisfying to start going through stuff and organizing and getting rid of what you don't need to move.

  22. Yoga in the park sounds so fantastic. Deluttering the house to move is always so much work but it does feel good to get rid of stuff that is no longer useful. That Farmer's Market look like so much fun.
