Wedding Wednesday: Selling My Stuff

I'm finally getting around to parting ways with some of my wedding stuff including my veil, jewelry and various other items.

I wanted to find out what wedding websites/classifieds everyone used to sell their wedding dress and/or other wedding stuff? Preferably sites that do not charge a fee.

I've also decided to sell my dress which I got cleaned and preserved after our wedding.

I also have lots of other random wedding decor including a "B" Mongrammed cake topper which looked lovely on our cake.

And also a beautiful "I Do" wedding hanger which is a cute idea for photos.

I'm curious to find out if there are any good wedding "marketplaces" online other than resorting to eBay or even Craigslist. Suggestions are welcome!

Farewell 2012: Highlights & Adventures

2012 has been a wonderful year filled with some very memorable and life-changing experiences.

We spent last New Years in Tobago with my friends from back home. We threw a NYE party at the house we rented and had a blast dancing and mixing drinks.

Every morning we awoke to 90 degree weather in Tobago and spent our days relaxing on the beach until the sun went down.

In February we went to Disney's Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

In May I was the maid of honor for one of my best friend's wedding.

June was a huge month for us as we got married! We had an outdoor wedding at Paradise Cove in Orlando. We had friends and family travel in from all over the world so it was an incredibly special day & one I'll never forget.

We did a mini honeymoon in St Pete Beach, FL since we had a big trip to Jamaica planned for the following month for my cousin's wedding.

St Pete Beach is a really cute beach town on the west coast. Unfortunately it rained most of the weekend so we stayed in our hotel room and caught up much needed sleep and relaxation after a busy wedding week entertaining guests.

In July we traveled to Negril, Jamaica for my cousin's destination wedding and our "official" honeymoon.

We stayed at an awesome all-inclusive resort on Negril beach and spent some quality time with my whole family.

We also took a charter boat out on the coast of Negril's 7 mile beach and visited the world famous Rick's cafe where the locals do cliff diving.

In October we took a 3-day cruise from to the Bahamas. We toured Nassau and got to eat some local food ~ conch fritters and conch salad.

The cruise also took us to Coco Cay which is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean.

In December we visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for my work holiday party.

And finally, yesterday I made a big purchase to start off 2013 right ;-)

I'm looking forward to what 2013 has in store for me. 13 is my lucky number!!

Weekend Celebrations Part II - A Yankees Wedding

After my birthday celebrations on Friday night, we headed out of town bright and early on Saturday morning for a friend's wedding. It was a beautiful and a super fun wedding!

K was in the wedding party so I got to ride in the party bus over from the church to the reception with the bride & groom and a bunch of friends. The bride looked gorgeous!

The groom is a huge Yankees fan so that was the running theme of the wedding reception and table numbers.

Joe DiMaggio Table

We had a great time with friends and the food was amazing!

It was definitely a beautifully planned wedding and we were so happy to be a part of their special day.

Cheers to the newlyweds!

Wedding Funnies & Non-Traditions

I'm sure every bride agrees how quickly your wedding days just swoops before your eyes. I couldn't believe it was already over when the DJ started shutting down. We also didn't have a videographer so after the wedding I was left wondering what the heck did I miss?  Luckily, our pictures tell a pretty good story. It's funny how many comical or even "nontraditional" things happened during our wedding and they were caught on camera for us to never forget.

I'm also linking up with A Happy Wife in New Orleans for the Wedding Wednesday Link Up.

An hour before our ceremony, the zipper on H's dress (on right) completely busted open...from top to bottom. A state a panic took place amongst all the bridesmaids and somebody ran to the store to buy a mini sewing kit. R (on left) used pink, white, grey etc. thread to completely sew H back into her fitted dress. I didn't know any of this was happening at the time but they pulled it off in the nick of time and everyone walked down the aisle calmly, for the most part ;-)

While K and I did our romantic pictures, it looks like the bridemaids and groomsmen had some fun with a bottle of rum.

Evidently kids didn't enjoy the speeches as much as the rest of us

Guests were on the dance floor drinking out of champagne bottles

The garter toss turned out to be fiercely competitive

Dancing happened in places other than the dancefloor

...And people ended up ON the bar.

Looks like everyone had a great time and that's all that matters! Whether traditional or not. Let's hear about your wedding funnies.
