Morning friends!
Today I'm sharing a few of my favorite things, Fridays being one of them but I think that goes without saying. Yesterday I was at an all-day conference which was mentally exhausting so I'm going to jump right into sharing some positive things today....Things I truly love <3
Exploring My Own City
Orlando has all these huge theme parks and great attractions but going where the locals go is so refreshing. Downtown Orlando (not to be mistaken with Downtown Disney) has so many cool restaurants and bars situated around Lake Eola where you can have a picnic, take your dog for a walk, or just relax around the lake.

Supporting Local Businesses
One thing I love about the location of my office is that it's surrounded by family-owned restaurants so I get to enjoy cuisines from Jamaica, Cuba, Thailand, Mexico, Peru, and even a good Philly Cheesesteak sandwich from a new restaurant recently opened by transplants from PA.

Shopping local goes far beyond just restaurants. Orlando has a huge Farmers Market every Sunday around Lake Eola which is dog friendly and you can find everything from fresh produce, indoor and outdoor plants, local artwork, food stations, handmade craft items like jewelry, pottery, and soap, with live music to boot!

Soft Throw Blankets
A super soft throw blanket is my favorite essential for a cozy night at home watching movies on the couch.
Carnations
I'm not a sucker for flowers on special occasions but I love, love carnations for some reason. They smell amazing, last longer than roses, and are more affordable. These babies are still going strong since Valentine's Day.
Things that make life easier
These Luggage Packing Cubes will hopefully decrease my tendency to over-pack for every trip we go on and help me organize better.
Enjoy the weekend!
I love trying to stay local with my shopping and eating too. The Farmer's market is the best, yours sounds so lovely! Have a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love carnations too!
ReplyDeleteAsk the Philly cheesesteak people if they use Amoroso rolls or rolls flown in from here. LOL
Luggage cubes have to be some of my very favourite things. And yay for family run restaurants
ReplyDeleteCarnations are my favorite, always so pretty, and I love the way they smell too! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've actually been thinking about trying the packing cubes. The only thing I'm trying to figure out how is how I can pack my dresses that tend to wrinkle. Usually I just fold them in half and set them in a suitcase. Any thoughts on how that works with the cubes? (Also, those are super cute! If I could make that happen... I would be proud of myself, lol.)
ReplyDeleteLove love LOVE our city! And yessss definitely not to be confused with the Disney and Universal attractions areas of Orlando <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
Lake Eola swans always make me happy!
