Denver Travel Recap

The trio of us friends had a blast in Denver all prompted by the mutual love for a band and the fact that seeing them live at one of the most gorgeous venues in the US was on our bucket list. I went to Denver for the first time last year with K and really enjoyed exploring the brewery scene and catching a ballgame at Coors Field yet we never made it to Red Rocks Park which I was bummed about.

When Slightly Stoopid announced they were playing at our dream venue earlier this year, concert tickets were immediately purchased and flights were booked. Luckily, since my husband travels so much, the gorgeous hotel we stayed in was completely free with all the hotel points he's racked up.

Day One
The excited trio on the plane heading to Denver!

Views from the Uber ride to our hotel...

We checked into our hotel in the heart of downtown Denver and headed out for some dinner and drinks.

Day Two

We were all up very early because of the 2-hour time change so we had some breakfast and coffee at the hotel before setting out on foot to explore all of downtown Denver.

I noticed the view from our hotel room was facing the backside of the famous Denver sign so we made sure to go check that out first and then continue on shopping and exploring.

That night was the show at Red Rocks so we made sure to get back to the hotel to rest up a bit before catching an Uber to the show. What we didn't know was that we'd have to hike up about two thousands stairs to enter the venue so that was a little draining considering we had walked all day plus the altitude factor makes you get dehydrated so quickly. I'm happy to say we survived it as evidence shows in the photo below!

The concert was an absolute blast and the Red Rocks Amphitheater is just too gorgeous for words so I think the venue warrants it's own post... coming next week.

Day Three
We got a late start considering the action-packed day we had prior! Everyone was telling us that Denver is known for their green chili (which isn't actually green) so we found a restaurant to fill our bellies before venturing on without any real plans...

Day Four
We literally had enough time to have breakfast and check out of the hotel before heading straight to the airport. Womp womp! It's always sad leaving a beautiful city like Denver but the silver lining is sometimes better, coming home to your husband, fur baby, and your own bed!

It was a trip of a lifetime and so glad I got to experience one of my bucket list dreams!

  13. The community piano!! I once saw a guy dressed like a rabbit playing on in the middle of the street in Cambridge, MA... we still don't believe it actually happened because we didn't snap a picture!! Love that there's one in Denver, too!
