Exploring Cozumel

During our anniversary trip to Mexico where we stayed at The Royal Playa del Carmen resort, we found out that there is a 45-minute ferry ride that takes you over to Cozumel. This sounded like the perfect adventure. The locals tried to push so many different excursions on us but we decided to create our own.

Once we arrived in Cozumel, we rented a buggy car and took off driving around the island, exploring at our own pace.

We drove for quite a while taking in the views and made our first stop at the Freedom in Paradise: Bob Marley's Bar for some lunch and a cold beverage.

We took off again exploring Cozumel's coast and different sites and scenes.

Our next stop was at Coconuts Bar & Grill which was such a fun spot with beautiful views.

We made our way around the island in about 3 hours including all the stops we did along the way. Once we made it back to the port area, we returned the buggy and explored the local shops before catching the ferry back to Playa del Carmen. The ferry itself is very comfortable with an air-conditioned cabin and comfortable seats along with a bar and restrooms.

It was the perfect adventure and I'm so glad we got to explore another part of Mexico on this short trip. Cozumel is such a beautiful island!
