To twist the quote above slightly...
Everyone in this world deserves love.
Everyone in this world deserves love.
The reality is there are so many people in need in our community, in our country, and even more so throughout the world. Many people have hope instilled in them despite being in terrible situations.
I do charity work here and there throughout the year but the holidays is really when I want to put my all into it. It's my favorite time of year and I want others to feel the same joy, to instill more hope and know that someone cares.
These are some of my favorite charities that I've gotten involved with over the years - most are probably local to Central Florida but you can possibly find a chapter in your city or a Charity organization with a similar mission/need.

I'm heading off on a company trip today so I was going to turn comments off because I won't be able to reply but I really want to hear about the charities close to your heart.
Let's make the world a brighter place!
There are so many people in our community who need help! We always did Toys for Tots when my husband was in the marines, now we do some things with the police department. They hand out Christmas meals and give kids Christmas that wouldn't normally have it. Such a great cause!
ReplyDeleteI volunteer through my job - a few times a year and like you said especially during the holidays!!
ReplyDeleteLove these ideas! My husband and I are scheduled to volunteer at a food bank next weekend to give back this season!
ReplyDeleteYou're wonderful to showcase the needs of so many and what we can do to help!! Your heart is just as pretty as you are on the outside my dear!! Happy weekend, hope its relaxing and joyous!!
ReplyDeleteWe do shoeboxes lots- both for kids and for women in shelters!!
ReplyDeleteHomeless youth is where I'm focusing right now.
ReplyDeleteLove this girl! There's something about the season that makes people's checkbooks open up! I love donating to medical organizations like St. Judes, American Heart Association, etc. Recently I've been donating a lot to no-kill animal shelters that are local to Houston that completely rely on donations!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post, such an important time of year. I'm all about donating toys for kids who are less fortunate, and I'm always all for donating to children's hospitals like St. Judes or the Ronald McDonald Foundation. Have a fabulous trip, we'll miss you this weekend <3

Love this post! I Volunteer year round with my sorority for the Southern Eye bank and Hogs for the Cause for families dealing with pediatric brain cancer. I want to do more and this is very inspiring, thank you! Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this post! Sometimes I think it can be overwhelming, knowing there's SO much need out there, so I love that you included so many different organizations.
ReplyDeleteLove this, looks like you support a lot of great charities!!! I usually try to help host two food drives a year for a local shelter to Birmingham. I used to volunteer at the Humane Society but I haven't been down there since being pregnant, it is really far away from my house and office. I am all about donating toys to children in need too! Hope you have a safe work trip!
ReplyDeleteSuch a special post. I love giving back and volunteering. I do regularly throughout the year and at Christmas we always buy gifts for a needy family. I want to do something for the soldiers this year too. Have a good weekend!
