Well this weekend just seemed to zip by as they all tend to do. By the time Friday night came around I was pretty exhausted so we went for a quick bite at The Social House, which just recently opened. There was live music but it was extremely loud (like we could hardly even talk) and the salad I ordered was just okay. I'll give them another try but it wasn't the best date night idea.
When we got home we relaxed and watched The Night Before from RedBox. I didn't care for the movie so I zoned out half way through. I guess that means I don't recommend it, at least it didn't peak my interest.
On Saturday morning it was time to go pick up my new car at the Mazda dealership which of course is a long process and takes a couple hours but I'm in love with my new ride and all the new features cars have these days.
On Saturday night it was time to get dolled up and head to Mango's Tropical Cafe to celebrate J's 37th birthday with dinner, drinks, and entertainment. While the atmosphere was fun with lots of different shows throughout the night, the service was horrendous (took 30 minutes to get a drink), the food was decent but they messed up a few people's orders including mine. The icing on the cake was when we had to pay $15 for valet parking but when it came time to leave, we waited almost 45 minutes for them to bring the car. I probably sound like a complaining shit between the events of Friday and Saturday night but I will always give my honest opinion here on my blog.

It was a fun night with friends but I will never return to Mango's again!
Sunday was all about getting organized - eggs benedict for a late breakfast since I slept in, three loads of laundry, all the blogging possible, dinner cooking in the crockpot, weekly food prep, and early to bed with hopes of not feeling too exhausted today because of the time change.
How was your weekend?

So not okay that you had to wait 45 minutes for you car...even if they are busy it shouldn't have taken that long - I highly suggest you leave a yelp review!! Yay for picking up your NEW car...that is so exciting!!! Congrats girl! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteYay for you new car!!! So exciting. Sorry to hear both your evenings out left much to be desired. That's always disappointing. Sounds like you had a super productive Sunday though!
ReplyDeleteWe almost rented The Night Before, but decided not to! I had a feeling it wouldn't be too amazing. It is so fun getting to pick up your new car! Have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you got your new car! I'll bet you look great in it! I value your honest opinion! The time change is kicking this old ladies butt, I'm driving to work in the dark again! Let's hope for the best and a grand a week ahead pretty girl, love your white top at the party.
ReplyDeleteYAY for the new car!!! It's so much fun riding around in it. Over a month in on mine and I'm still loving it :) Looks like the rest of the weekend was a blast, too!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for a new car, I LOVED getting my new one a few years ago, it still is fun to drive. Bummer about the bad service, that sounds awful.
ReplyDeleteYAY for a new car! Always so much fun! I always want to drive every where right after getting a new car. And LOVING your top from Sat night! Happy Monday girlie! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteyou had a good weekend. yay for the car and playing around with all of the fun things in it. i was wondering if that movie was any good--i'll def skip it.
ReplyDeletei cant wait to see the new ride! so exciting. that is totally lame about sat night at mango's but then again i am not surprised. i haven't heard the best things. i am so not in the mood for this time change haha. if you see me today i'll def be zombie status!

Such a bummer about both restaurants, bad service is the worst! Yay for a new car though, so exciting!
ReplyDeleteYay for your new car!! But 30 minutes to get drinks is outrageous! I would have been furious. Then 45 mins to get your car from Valet. Sounds like they don't have a clue. I too wouldn't go back.
ReplyDeleteYour new car is awesome! I love the smell of a new car and the new technology they come with! That stinks about Mangos but this is your blog and you get to be honest. When you pay for a service you expect it to be provided properly and timely. Nothing irks me more than messed up food orders or slow valets. Ridic.
ReplyDeleteLoving your new car! And so glad we got to have some fun on Saturday, but I couldn't agree more that I will never return to Mangos. The service was awful, and it was absolutely deplorable that we had to wait so long for our cars from valet after paying $15 for the "service". But so glad I got to see you, and celebrate the birthday boy! Cheers to all the coffee today <3

$5 minutes?! That is nuts! The new car looks great, they are the best. Sunday sounds very productive, plan on one of those this coming weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'd be stomping like a toddler at the 45 minute wait for the valet, and they STILL charged you. RAGE!
ReplyDeleteHurrah, good luck with the new car!
Hooray for your new car! And I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to that restaurant! You only have one chance to make a good first impression, and it sounds like they left a horrible impression on you! At least you had fun celebrating your friend's birthday, right?
ReplyDeleteYaaayyy for the new car - that definitely made up for some less-than-stellar service this weekend! I'm so glad you give your honest opinion. That's so disappointing about Mango's!
ReplyDeleteYay for the new car!! Boo about the terrible service at the restaurant, and that much for valet and you had to wait 45 mins, no thanks! At least you guys looked like you are having fun, but I don't blame you about not going back there! Happy week!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh! that is ridiculous! the messing up the orders, waiting on drinks and then the valet? that is ridiculous. i would have been SO mad.
ReplyDeletethat movie doesn't look like my cup of tea so i'll definitely be skipping it. yay new car though!
Yay that is so exciting to get a new car!! I haven't heard too many good things about that movie, I think I'll skip it! :(

UGH, that is not cool about either place you visited...total bummer. I went to Mango's in Miami and while I didn't eat there, I did plenty of drinking and don't remember much more than way too many shots of apple something....haha...this was years ago. YAY for your new car- it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNooo at them taking 45 minutes to bring your car! I'm glad you guys still had fun celebrating J's birthday- it looks like a fun night & you look gorgeous! I'm sure you were so excited to finally get to pick up your car-- it looks so nice!
ReplyDeleteLook at your new car!!! So fancy!!!! I hate when I get excited to try somewhere new and my food is just ok. Like I could have done that at home kind of thing. And waiting 45 minutes for valet???? NO!!! Just no!!! I would be complaining about that evening too between your sub-par service and that.
ReplyDeleteyay new car!! this made me want a new car... and to go out for drinks lol
ReplyDeleteSimply Shaunacey
Congrats on your new car! I am going to be shopping for a new car soon and I'm thinking about the Mazda CX5. I know I want a smaller SUV but there's so many options! My friend has a CX5 and loves hers!

New car?! How exciting! I saw SouthPaw this weekend. Good, kinda slow, but my mom was like you have to see how ripped Jake is in this movie lol.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good weekend, even with the bad service. Nice ride!
