Seasonal Fall Beers

Call me a lush but one of my favorite things about Fall is when pumpkin beers hit the shelves. K and I have a little tradition where we pick up a new (to us) beer every Friday to try out over the weekend. Of course some of the favorites stay in the rotation while others come and go. Since pumpkin beer is in season and I've been taste tasting over the past few weekends, I have some faves to share.

I'm no beer connoisseur so there's no description for each one on the flavors and how sweet or tart (or whatever) they are. For me, it's either I like it or I don't. In general, I like pumpkin beers with a hint of flavor and aren't too sweet or overpowering. All of these passed the test with Jack-O Traveler Pumpkin Shandy being my favorite because it's light and refreshing.

Do you have any pumpkin beer favorites that I should try next?

  1. I think I had the Jack-o beer at a friends house a couple of weekends ago and it was good! I'm interested in trying the Leinenkugel's shandy!

  2. Usually I'm not a huge Sam Adams fan, but when we visited the brewery a few years ago I fell in love with their Oktoberfest! It's just so good! We have a couple of craft breweries in Houston that have some pretty good Oktoberfest beers so we always stock up on those.

  4. You know I love me some pumpkin beers. We go to a brewery in northern Michigan that brews the BEST!! I usually buy the Sam Oktoberfest but when at breweries in the Fall I always ask if they've got a pumpkin!! PSL's and Pumpkin Beer, my two favorite Fall dinks. Lol.

  5. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I am a sucker for seasonal beers. The Jack-O sounds really yummy especially because it's lighter than average beers!

  14. Love that you guys try out a new one each week, and I'm so excited to see that Sam Adams has an actual pumpkin beer since Oktoberfest isn't pumpkin-y :)

  19. I'm not a beer drinker in general... but I feel like I've been seeing a lot more cool flavors that I would be willing to try just out of sheer curiosity! Beer has come a long way, that's for sure!
