Dry Shampoo: Favorite Picks

Batiste remains my favorite dry shampoo after trying a variety of other brands to see if there was anything better out there. Nothing has compared to Batiste in terms of effectiveness, texture and smell. Why do I currently have 3 bottles of dry shampoo? For $8.50 a bottle you really can't go wrong, however you can get it even cheaper at Marshall's for about $5.99 so I stocked up on a couple bottles while I was there over the weekend.

I liked all of the scents I've tried so far so I don't have a favorite in mind but you can find a ton of different ones including fresh, fruity and floral scents to match your preference. They also have dry shampoos specifically for blondes, brunettes or red heads.

Some other dry shampoo brands that I've used (and not liked) are Herbal Essences Naked, Not Your Mother's Clean Freak and Suave's dry shampoo. They are either too sticky, do not provide enough body or just smell bad.  The Herbal Essences dry shampoo is my most recent purchase. I tried it only once and liked the smell but didn't like the texture it made my hair feel and look so will never use it again. It's a shame to waste a full bottle so I'll probably give it away to a friend or anyone that wants to try it and see if it works better for them.

Any any other dry shampoos out there known for working really well?

  1. I need to try Batiste as soon as my dry shampoo is gone! I've heard so many good things about it and the fact they make different kinds depending on your hair color is awesome!

  3. I really liked the Batiste when I tried it before we went out a few weeks ago, it smelled great and didn't leave my hair sticky. I really liked Suave at first, but I developed an aversion to the scent after a while which makes me want to throw it away. I just ordered the Triple Sec dry shampoo from Dry Bar with some gift cards to Sephora, it's pricey but I decided to try it out since I had some free money there.

Where else do you find the Batiste other than Marshalls?

  11. I'm the exact opposite of you. Batiste will not work for me at all. I have dark brown hair and Batiste is the only dry shampoo I have tried that will not "brush out". The white cast stays on my head all day. My favorite is Suave and I really like Not Your Mother's.

  12. Oh the never ending quest for the perfect dry shampoo. I have tried literally every brand on the market... except of course, what you listed. How does it do with your roots? That is my biggest problem is finding something that will not grease my roots up. Also does it add good volume? I buy "L'oreal's EverStyle Energizing Dry Shampoo" at ulta for like 6-8 bucks and it is literally the BEST! It makes my hair SO voluminous and no greasy roots.

  13. I've never tried this brand but I need to. I tried the Herbal Essences one, and while decent for the price, it just didn't work well for me. I've discovered the dry shampoos with starch as an ingredient are the best for me.
