2012 Weekend Finale!

Hey hey! Hope you had a fab weekend! Sunday night comes way too soon don't ya think?  I know many people are on vacay tomorrow but I'm not one of them :-/

On Friday, I went to happy hour with my coworker & friend so we could catch up on our Christmas travels and festivities. I wore my Florida "winter" gear ;-)

On Saturday we went car browsing. K & I decided that 2013 was the year for me to get a new and more reliable car.

Sat night K & I had a date night at one our fave restaurants in town - Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. They cook in front of you on a hibachi grill and entertain with funny jokes and cooking tricks.

Kobe sent me a $30 voucher for my birthday so it was our last chance to use it before it expires. Even though my birthday was 2 weeks ago, they still sang me happy birthday and gave me a free dessert. Best deal in town!!

On Sunday, we went to the Toyota car dealership to test drive a couple cars and 5 hours later I walked away with a brand new baby doll ~ Pearl is her name! Sooo happy :-)

Talk about an upgrade.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm pretty sad that Christmas is already over and I had to go back to work today. Don't you agree that we spend weeks preparing for it - decorating, shopping, cooking - and then the day just goes by in a flash?

Linking up with Jamie for WILW.

Although Christmas is over, I'm loving that we get to celebrate NYE in less than a week.

I'm loving that the weather has barely dropped below 40 F for the holidays. Pretty strange weather for Florida but not having to layer in a bunch of clothes is totally fine with me.

Love the earrings K gave me for Christmas.

I'm loving the Peppermint Mocha creamer that we've been using at the office this month.

I'm loving these Pinterest finds:

Hope you had a good Wednesday!

Christmas in the Sunshine State

It's Christmas night and all the festivities are winding down. It's been the warmest December that I can remember. Ever!

We spent Christmas with K's family this year. On Christmas Eve night, the whole family gathered to do the traditional white elephant gift exchange and reading of the Bible's Christmas story.

We woke up on Christmas morning to open gifts with everyone. I got really spoiled this year from K's parents and family.

My sister-in-law gave us a fondue set, which I can't wait to use for entertaining!

I'm in love with the necklace I got from my in-laws, which has my birth stone in the pendant.

We also get Lottery tickets every year from K's parents and I got a winning ticket!!

Having to work tomorrow is also quickly becoming a sad reality.....but it's been a fun and fabulous Christmas!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you :-)

Holiday Preparations with a Martini Twist

Hey everyone! I'm finally getting to sit down after baking, cooking, cleaning, running errands, and taking care of sick K today. You know men turn into babies when they're sick! Ugh ;-)

We're heading out of town tomorrow to spend Christmas with K's family so I hope you all have a FABULOUS Christmas filled with everything & everyone you love!

I'm so lucky our photographer friend (who was hired for the wedding we attended last weekend) took this photo for us and sent it just in time to share with everyone.

I went to the nail salon this morning and discovered OPI's extra-VA-ganza. Thought it was perfect for the holidays.

I baked sugar cookies and oatmeal cookies to bring to K's family for Christmas.

I'm not gonna lie, I definitely had the help of Betty Crocker. I couldn't risk screwing them up with everything else going on. They're on sale (BOGO) at Publix so I bought a few different types.

After running around like a chicken with no head, I finally got to make me a FANCY drink ~ my favorite ~ a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I got the vodka as a gift from my coworker and I picked up the rest of the ingredients today.

Stuffed the olives with blue cheese.

Perfection!

K and I decided to open 1 gift early this year. We just couldn't wait!

I got him a new Fossil wallet/money clip

And he got my the Juicy Couture perfume. Totally unexpected but I love it!

Best wishes to you and yours! May Santa treat you good whether you were naughty or nice, or both ;)

High Five for (Christmas) Friday

Happy Friday everyone!
Christmas is right around the corner! Woohoo!

I'm working from home today so I can take care of K after his surgery yesterday for his sinuses. He's on a liquid diet for the next few days. I gotta resist eating his goodies ;-) We're hoping he'll feel good enough to eat all good stuff on Christmas day.

I'm linking up with Lauren for High Five For Friday.

All our gifts are wrapped and chillin under the tree.

Love all the Christmas cards we've recieved from friends and family.

Can't wait to try the Skinny Girl Cosmo I got as a gift.

Love the iPhone case I ordered from eBay this week.

Excited to try this Mexican Dorito Dip recipe from jamhands.net. I found it on Pinterest and thought it looked yummy enough to bring to one of the holiday parties we're invited to.

 Mexican Dorito Casserole
Serves 4-6

2 c. shredded cooked chicken
1 c. shredded cheese (or more if you are a cheese hound)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 can Ro-tel tomatoes (canned tomatoes with jalepenos-mild)
1/2 packet taco seasoning (or more- to taste)
Bag of doritos

What goodies are you cooking for the holidays? I hope you enjoy :-)
