I talked about my favorite facial products last year in this skincare review and shared several tried and true products that have stayed in my rotation for many years. Since then, I've tried some new products although many remain the same. Here are my faves:
I really like the Yes to Grapefruit Facial Wipes but will probably try the cucumber scent next purchase. I've been using the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Facial Cleanser on a daily basis for a few years because I love how it softly exfoliates your skin to remove dirt or makeup so I won't be changing out this product anytime soon.
I use my Clarisonic Mia along with Philosophy's Purity Cleanser about once a week. Since I don't use the Mia very often, the battery dies very quickly so that can be frustrating when it dies half way through my cleaning routine. There are also cheaper options such as the Olay Advanced Cleansing System that do the job just as well (I've tried both).
I've been using Cetaphil's Gentle Antibacterial Cleansing Bar since high school and will probably never give it up. It's very gentle on your face and does a great job of cleaning and hydrating. K also likes how it works and uses it on a daily basis. The Murad Oil-Control Mattifier moisturizer is a new product recommended to me when I recently went to get a facial and expressed some disappointment with my skinny getting shiny throughout day. I only use it on my forehead (problem area) and use my regular Garnier Anti-Sun Damage Moisturizer on the rest of my face. It does it's job well at mattifying to prevent a shiny face.
I don't use Tarte's Maracuja Oil daily but I like applying it at night after showering and cleaning my face thoroughly. Maracuja oil is a hydrating treatment that helps with anti-aging and makes your skin firmer, brighter and smoother (will not cause breakouts) so this is what I use to fight against wrinkles. Body Shop's Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover has been in my rotation for probably 15 years and I have never come across any product better so it will remain as one of my staple skincare products. It's VERY gentle on your eyes and not oily, it smells good and works really effectively so I only have good things to say about this makeup remover and definitely recommend it.
What are your tried and true facial products?
I somehow have forgotten all about my clairsonic...I feel like I rush through my skincare routine and it fell to the back of my drawer...thanks for the reminder!! I need to try those facial wipes - the scent alone makes me want to buy them! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI use yes to wipes also and love them! I have really been wanting to get a clarasonic for some time, but I always forget about it until I see one!
ReplyDeleteI want to try the YES wipes. I am a huge fan of Cetaphil products and have used the bar and liquid cleanser forever!! I hope they never stop making it because I couldn't live without it, lol!! Hope you have an amazing day!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Body Shop's make up remover but I have added it to my list!!! I am intrigued by the Loreal go clean cleanser too. I dont think I have ever seen it before. Cera Ve and Cetaphil are always good staples for me.
ReplyDeleteLove my Clarisonic, such a game changer for my skin. Might try out that Tarte product, it sounds pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou're the second person to swear by that eye makeup remover, I really need to try it! I go through phases with my clarisonic, but need to start using it again.
ReplyDeleteI love the chamomile eye makeup remover, got that from you.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder if I should get something like the Olay thing if I'd only use it once or twice a week. That is a really good price.
Eek!! Super excited I was able to sneak on to your blog today! Don't ask me what was different today from yesterday but I'll take it. I have the same problem with my Clarisonic and the battery. I'm going to have to check out that Murad moisturizer. My nose and chin always get shiny throughout the day! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeletei totally just re stocked up on cetaphil cleanser - i love their products! and i use the cucumber wipes to take off my makeup and they are the best. esp for the price. good list!

I LOVE seeing other people's skincare routines, is that weird? I like switching things up and am always on the look out for new products! I haven't tried ANYTHING you mentioned so I may be doing some online shopping later :) My husband does NOT thank you ;)

Loving all of these products, I use them all except the Loreal go clean...I had my Clarisonic die half way through the cleaning too, it was annoying.
ReplyDeleteLove my Mia! Sorry you're having issues with your battery! I need to try that cetaphil cleanser too, love that it's gentle and effective <3

I'm the worst at skincare. I'm sure I could use all of these!! Great list.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten a few of the oil samples in my Sephora Boxes recently, but I haven't really used them. It sounds like I need to start adding them to my night time routine!
ReplyDeletehmmm after that recommendation i think i will definitely check out the body shop's makeup remover. i have yet to find the perfect one so i'll give it a go! also, the maracuja oil sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the body shop products they always smell delicious and do the trick! Definitely need to try that cleanser too!
ReplyDeleteI swear by my Clarisonic! Mine doesn't die like you mention yours doing--that's no fun! I will have to check out that Tarte stuff--sounds amazing. I just started using the Micellar Cleansing Water and love that as a makeup remover!
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessed with my clarasonic mia since getting it - well, just a few times a week but I love how it works! After not using it all last week while away I'm trying to do a little extra this week!
ReplyDeleteI tried the Yes To Carrots coconut mask and love it. I love their branding and definitely want to try more of their stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love my clairsonic! I use it about 3 to 4 times a week! I also love Say Yes To Carrots products!
ReplyDeletethat oil is SOOOO good. And you can use for anything!
ReplyDeletegreat picks! I have been really interested in the Tarte Oil but was a little worried to buy it. I may have to try it out after your review! I love the Simple line-especially the Micellar Water and also the Biore Baking Soda line!
ReplyDeleteOh I have been wanting to try that Tarte Oil, glad to hear that it doesn't cause breakouts. Most of those oils make me break out and it drives me batty. Will have to pick some up next time I'm at Ulta.
ReplyDeleteI just started using the Say Yes... facial cleanser wipes and I am obsessed. They really are so gentle and get off all of the makeup.
ReplyDeleteI love my Clarisonic! That's weird yours dies so quickly, especially if you don't use it very often! :(
