Boston Trip Highlights

Happy Friday lovely friends! I'm so relieved this was a short work week because our Boston adventures last weekend left us feeling exhausted. After getting home super late on Monday night due to two delayed flights, the week started off a bit rough so the weekend will definitely help me get back on track and hopefully enjoy some relaxing even though I have a few plans with friends.

We packed our 4 days in Boston full of touring, exploring, and eating some of the best food in the city. We stayed with a friend who was a great host and tour guide so we got to see a lot of what the locals like to do while also making him play tourist in his own city and what a gorgeous city it is!

There's no way I can fit all of our Boston adventures into one post so today I'm sharing some of the highlights from our trip with lots more details coming next week.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and got settled at the condo before heading out for dinner.

Our host wanted to show us around Boston's North End and made reservations at Dolce Vita Ristorante, a family-style Italian restaurant. The owner greeted us at the door as he does with most guests and WOW was the food amazing!

We started off Saturday with lunch at the Barking Crab because someone was in need of trying a Lobster Roll for the first time.

All of Saturday was spent exploring the city and trying to fit in as many tourist attractions as possible. Thankfully the weather was gorgeous!

We went on an Historic Sightseeing Cruise around Boston Harbor.

We explored Quincy Market and shopped for some souvenirs around Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

Another highlight from Saturday was going up to the Skywalk Observatory in the Prudential Center to enjoy the views from above and learn some history.

On Sunday it was time for a ballgame at Fenway Park - Red Sox vs Seattle Mariners. Our host got us some amazing seats close to the field and I took in all sights and sounds of the oldest ballpark in the MLB while my sports-fan husband was in his element. The Sox didn't get the win so we were on to the next...

Right after the game we walked over to Yard House to meet up with Biana and her husband. Both of our schedules were tight for the weekend but I didn't want to leave Boston without catching up with one of my favorite bloggers in person, even if it meant showing up all sweaty from the ballgame.

I'm so glad we made it happen even for a quick meetup. B and I got chatting, the husbands got chatting and it was an awesome time meeting them in person. Her husband just as amazing as she is!

Last but not least...
L Street Tavern, a homey watering hole made famous by the movie "Good Will Hunting". This bar was only a block away from our host's condo so we stopped in a few times throughout the trip and sat at the same table featured in the movie.

Take me back!!
While I know that's not possible, at least the memories will last a lifetime.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  10. So many fun things packed into your trip!!! All of your food looks amazing!!! It would be so cool to watch a baseball game there even though I don't really care about the sport. It's more the atmosphere I guess. And soooo awesome that you got to meet Biana!!!! I love seeing bloggers meet up when they travel. Hope you get some relaxing in this weekend!
