TBT For Thanksgiving

As I count my blessings this Thanksgiving Day, know that you are among them - my family, my friends, my husband and my Lola are my world and I'm definitely thankful for all the genuine friendships I've made through blogging!

I wanted to share one of my favorite Thanksgiving memories in sort of a Throwback Thursday style...

It began when Lola came into my life the week before Thanksgiving.

She was dropped off at my office in the pouring rain and my heart just melted. I hadn't owned a pet since living at home with my parents so there were a lot of uncertainties in my mind.  Probably explains why it took me more than 10 years to take the plunge.

The right opportunity was dangled in front of me and I couldn't say no to this gorgeous bundle of wrinkles.

Since then Lola has grown into her full bully frame but has a heart of gold for children and other dogs of any size, She shows K and I never ending love and loyalty.... sometimes to the point where she can be a Stage 5 clinger but, Boy has she redeemed herself from the puppy and potty training days.

I don't have kids so my adoration goes to Lola and I'm so grateful and thankful for her companionship over the past few years.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and fur-babies!

#TBT Memorial Weekend '12

Memorial weekend in Florida is one of my favorite long weekends. It's that time of year to head out to the beach or pull out the grill and lay by the pool with friends. We plan on doing all of the above this weekend!

Last year a big group of us headed out to Cocoa Beach and had a great time for the holiday weekend.

As our Cocoa beach tradition goes, the girls must sneak off to the bar and do some shots. We then must buy some frozen drinks topped with a shot of 151. Good decisions?

For anyone visiting Cocoa beach, you must try the "Pain in the Ass" frozen drink. Ingredients: 1/2 Daiquiri, 1/2 Pina Colada with a shot of 151...yummy but strong!

Linking up today for Throwback Thursday.

Counting down til the weekend!

Throwback Thursdays: The Goldilocks Years

I don't have access to many baby pictures of myself since my parents live far away but I ran across this old picture of me cutting the cake at my 2nd (maybe 3rd?) birthday. A true December baby cake, I see.

I also can't help but notice my perfect little gold wringlets. Must have been nice to have bleach blonde hair and perfect curls without paying big bucks to a hairdresser?!  Such is not the case any more so salon prices will be the death of me. I know, #Firstworldproblems.

One more day til the weekend!

Where's the Bikini Weather at?

This weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm here in Florida so in honor of two of my favorite things, I'm dedicating this Throwback Thursday to sunshine and bikinis - Summer 2007 edition!

This is how we spent our days back when I was a single gal ;-)

Relaxing on the lake (when I was a brunette for a short period of time).

My old roommate Slip 'n Sliding in our backyard

Catching some rays by the pool

Going to concerts and music festivals.

And just being silly...

 Great memories!

Cheers to another Throwback Thursday!

Throwback Thursdays: St Patty's Style

I didn't have time to scan some old pics so in honor of St Patty's day this weekend, I was able to find some pics of previous St Patty's celebrations (thanks to modern technology aka Facebook).

Last year we went to a house party with some friends and celebrated with several Irish Car Bomb shots.
(We all look possessed in this picture thanks to the iPhone camera.)

Previous years we've gone bar hopping downtown and I'm pretty sure we had several Irish Car Bombs.

And back in college we went to the local Irish pub and drank green beer and/or the cheapest drinks we could get our hands on.

I actually still have the above green shirt which says "Shake Your Shamrock". I think I'll wear it again this weekend to keep the tradition going for St Patty's Day ;-)

What are your plans for St. Patty's day this weekend?
