Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! I hope everyone enjoys the holiday and gets to spend it with their loved ones.

I'm thankful for the newest addition to our family, Lola Chanel...our baby English Bulldog.

Lola is 10 weeks old and is adjusting better than I expected. She is a puppy so she keeps up busy with potty clean ups but she is super lovable, easygoing and playful. We are in love and thankful for this blessing that melts our heart.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Fun Holiday Potluck Dips

The holidays are coming up and I, for one, usually have a few potlucks to attend with friends & family and at work. I've been looking for some fun dip ideas from blogs I follow and via Pinterest and wanted to share some ideas I came across.

Thursday Trends: Pretty Statement Necklaces

Statement necklaces are one of the "in" things these days. They can transform the simplest black outfit into an eye-catching look for any occasion. They are also great to give as gifts for the holidays.

The beach baby in me particularly loves the necklace with starfish and sand dollars from Tommy Bahama.

Enjoy Turkey day!

Taste of Tuesday: Thanksgiving Corn Casserole

Hi everyone!

Another successful recipe cooked this weekend for the "friends-giving" dinner I went to on Saturday night.

I got this delicious recipe for Cheesy Corn Casserole from here thanks to Denise for sharing!

Ingredients:
1 (11 oz) can whole kernel corn
1 (11 oz) can cream style corn
1 (8oz) sour cream
1 egg
1 pack dry corn bread/muffin mix
1/2 onion
1 cup grated cheese

Use Pam or butter to grease the 9x13 inch baking dish. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl leaving behind 1/4 cup cheese for the topping.

Cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and top with remainder of cheese.

Bake for another 25 minutes until inside is cooked and cheese becomes golden brown.

Enjoy!

Friends-Giving Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I had a much-needed relaxing Friday. K and I went for dinner & drinks at Outback and then rented a movie from Redbox.

Saturday was hectic ~ gym, grocery, Christmas shopping & baking for our "friends-giving" dinner.

On Sunday, I put up our Christmas tree and spent the day at home "relaxing" aka laundry, cleaning, cooking and preparing for work on Monday

What to Cook For Thanksgiving?

I have 3 different Thanksgiving lunches/dinners this year - one this weekend with friends, a potluck at work next week, and then actual Thanksgiving day with family - and really don't know what to bring to the table.

Of course, this is where Pinterest becomes my creative thinking cap and I've found some new recipes to consider.

Garlicky Butternut Squash & Pumpkin Soup

Side Dishes:

I've actually cooked a different version of this casserole for our family Thanksgiving 2 or 3 years in a row but this recipe looks so much better so I will probably experiment with this one this year.

Almost Friday!

Cyber Monday Sales

What deals do you have your heart set on today?

I've already purchased most of my Christmas gifts so I've been trying to avoid additional shopping but the Cyber Monday promotions continue to flood my inbox.

Some sales that I've been browsing through today are:

Coats and jackets are over 50% off at Macy's so I've found some huge deals like the two jackets below both going for $17.99 (originally priced at $59.50).

Cyber Monday only comes once a year right?

Have some fun with it!

Thanksgiving Festivities & Black Friday Shopping

Phew! We're back home after spending a hectic few days in B-town with K's family and friends for Thanksgiving.

On Thursday morning we left home and drove to B-town on Florida's west coast to spend Thanksgiving day with K's super large family. We caught up with everyone and ate a huge spread of food including turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and about 10 other sides. The dessert table was also packed with every type of pie and cake imaginable.

Thanksgiving night we went out to catch up with all of K's friends from childhood and high school days. Several drinks and laughs were shared!!

On Black Friday, I convinced K to take me to the outlet malls to browse around "quickly".  I thankfully didn't do much damage just bought myself a blue chiffon blouse and black booties that were 50% off. I got most of my Christmas gift shopping done last week so didn't really need to buy much else.

After the Outlet mall we went for lunch at this awesome seafood restaurant and tiki bar on the inter-coastal called Tarpon Point. We enjoyed eating outdoors in the beautiful 70 degree weather.

Friday night we went out again for one last hurrah with K's friends and to also celebrate a birthday. We started off at our favorite spot in B-town. It's become a tradition to visit this bar everytime we're in town because they are known to serve the strongest Mai Tai's probably in the country.  They're so strong that they don't allow you to have more than two.

So we had our two Mai Tai's and went on to continue the birthday celebrations for one of K's good friends at another bar.

This morning we said our goodbyes and hit the road to head back to our quiet home. So thankful today is Saturday and we still have 1 more day to relax before the work week begins.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
