Life Lately

I had some fun plans lined up for Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday but caught a stomach bug and was curled up in bed until 10:30am on Sunday. No fun at all!  K went out for the birthday celebrations and had a blast. I guess the silver lining is that I got lots of rest since life lately has been insanely busy at work.

Work Events
On top of my job as Marketing Manager, I'm also the event coordinator for internal employee events like our recent offsite team-building day with bowling etc. which was a ton of fun but lots of planning on my end.

Last week we also hosted a client networking event for about 175 guests so I was busy with coordinating the food, venue, entertainment and working until 10pm on Wednesday night. Thankfully it was a success but it was followed by another late night work event on Thursday night while still juggling all the to-do's of my actual job. I'm not complaining but no wonder I was exhausted this weekend!

Life Events
My saving grace is spending weekends with K and my snuggle bug Lola, who thinks she runs the house... or car in this photo!

We haven't traveled or gone out of town since our trip to Trinidad & Tobago over the holidays. I've been loving the free time on the weekends to relax and get things done, although we've kept fairly busy locally too.

Baby Showers
I've been invited to three baby showers in the past couple months but was only able to attend two of them...both were extremely cute. Safari Themed for the Baby Boy (name will be a surprise) and Bumble Bee themed for the parents-to-bee that wish to keep the gender unknown.

Brunching
There are so many amazing brunch spots in Orlando but the vibe at Vanbarry's has to be in my top five. When the weather is sweet, everyone brings their dogs or kids out for some live music and patio dining.

Visiting Local Breweries
Shout out to Ellipsis Brewing for crafting some of the best local beers in Orlando.

Birthday Celebrations
Even though I missed the birthday celebrations this weekend, I have been able to celebrate a few birthday brunches and lunches with friends.

Ladies Night
I shared the adventures of our Food and Wine Neighborhood House Crawl which was a blast! So blessed to have some amazing ladies living in my neighborhood.

Travel Planning
We have some fun trips lined up for this year and I can't wait to get my travel on!

That sums up my life lately!

Hopefully all the R&R I got over the weekend makes this week a smooth one.

  6. Hope you're feeling better! It's hard to pull numerous late night work shifts in a row - I do a similar thing here with our internal and external events. When they stack, it's tough! Glad you got some rest even if it was forced.

  11. I hope that you're feeling better! Brunch is the best. I planned on going to brunch yesterday with Nash but then I was so exhausted from the night before that I didn't leave the couch for a very long time haha.

  12. Booooo to the stomach bug, seriously the worst! Sounds like you were super run down from a busy week, but glad you're feeling better and caught up on some rest. Yay for brunch and all the travel! I need to get back to Vanberrys soon. Maybe we can meet up for brunch sometimes soon and bring Lola and Serena before it gets too hot <3

  16. Stomach bugs are the absolute worst- I’m sorry to hear one got you! I used to plan internal events for our employees too and it was one of my most favorite things. Boosting employee morale is fun and important. You are a busy and successful woman- I’m sure everyone appreciates the amazing job you do. I’m excited to read about your travels this year- I always enjoy it!

  17. Hope you are feeling better! I had the flu last month--it wasn't fun, but I did get to actually rest, relax, and watch lots of tv, which I never do anymore!

  18. OH. Can you give me ideas for inter-team bonding activities and events? I've been wanting to do some of these kinds of things, but I'm terrible at planning them. It looks like a trip to Niagara Falls might be on your agenda? If so, let me know if it's the US side or the Canadian side? I'll try and share some ideas if I can. ;)
