A Weekend of Content

Happy long weekend for those who get Presidents' Day off of work today. I don't have to go into the office today but instead we have a full day of offsite team-building with the work gang. Since I'm one of the "event planners", I spent a lot of time over the weekend organizing fun games and prizes.

All the big plans we had for the weekend was won over by relaxing and being productive which meant we didn't venture too far from home but I'm OK with that! I feel like some of my weekends are very repetitive and I think this one falls into that category with a few exceptions.

Friday
I picked K up from the airport after work and we went for a quick happy hour drink before ordering some dinner to go. We tried out a new Japanese restaurant that opened up close to home and I got my sushi fix for the next month or so!

Saturday
K and I had all intentions of celebrating a late Valentine's Day at Universal Studios for their Mardi Gras parade with a nice dinner afterwards at Emeril's but that didn't happen. We opted to relax at home all morning before venturing out to get a bunch of errands done. Shopping at Kohl's for work pants, Staples to print out the Bingo and Trivia games for our event today, getting all the groceries, and stopping for a beer tasting at Ellipsis Brewery before heading home.

We watched A Bad Moms Christmas on Saturday night which was hilarious! I even re-watched it on Sunday morning while sipping on my coffee.

Sunday
The weather got up into the 80's around noon which made for a perfect afternoon catching some rays and cooling off in the pool because it actually felt way hotter than the weather report suggested.

I listened to my current book The Lincoln Lawyer on Audible while lounging by the pool.

We grilled some Southwestern Salmon Burgers for dinner and had a relaxing evening.

Joining the lovely Biana sharing my weekend whereabouts.

  1. Oh my goodness, I am smiling at the similarities. I had Sushi with the college kids on Friday night, then Mr. Nine and I also watched Bad Moms Christmas on Saturday Night, I had been wanting to watch it for weeks and Sunday was spent chilling. Hope it’s a great day of team building, I bet you guys have a blast!

  11. That sushi looks SO good. I want to see Bad Moms Christmas - I've told Chuck a few times...we laughed so hard at the first one, so I can't wait to see this. We used to do team building day on President's Day when I worked for a Credit Union- and I was always in charge of the things you are, haha. Hope your week is going well!
