Returning to the Cold + TBB Asks

Good morning friends! It's been a while since I've been able to connect with the blogging world. If you follow my blog or even social media (Instagram or SnapChat: emilyalisonb), you probably saw that I flew into Trinidad for Christmas and didn't return until this past Friday.

It was the longest vacation I've been able to take in ages and was able to pack so much fun with friends and family into the trip. I need another weekend to compile my thoughts and a million photos from the trip so for now a quick weekend recap linking up with the lovely Biana.

K and I flew into Ft Lauderdale from Trinidad on Friday and, after a whole rental car debacle that took hours, we finally made it to our hotel in West Palm Beach. Flying in from the heat of the islands to the 40-50 degree temps in FL was a shock to the system and we had no warm clothes packed so a Target run was necessary before heading out for dinner and drinks.

We walked around CityPlace downtown WPB which was right across from our hotel before settling at City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill for dinner.

After dinner we stopped off at Blue Martini for some live music and a cocktail before calling it a night.

We were up bright and early on Saturday to make the 2.5 hour drive home to pickup our sweet Lola from boarding. To say we missed her would be an understatement. It was perfect that we were able to spend the weekend with her before getting back into our busy work routine.

On Saturday night, we ordered Kairo's Sushi Delivery for dinner and caught up on all our shows.

Lola was pooped all weekend from all the fun she had at the boarding place but we got lots of snuggles in between. I did all the Sunday things to get prepared for the week ahead while still managing to relax and watch some more of my shows in the evening.

  7. So glad you were able to get some extended time away-- it's always so hard coming back to cold weather, especially when you're not expecting it!

  9. I would so be down for a blogger trip! I hate leaving Nash. It makes me incredibly sad. I have to leave him just for a night in a couple of weeks & that's hard enough. I haven't been away from him for more than a couple of days since I got him. I know the first time I have to leave him for 3+ days I'm going to feel bad.

  11. Awww look at Lola!!! So sweet. That sushi looks so amazing! I hope you guys had fun on vacation. I cant imagine the cold shock you got coming back! Who would have thought Florida would drop that much too.

The crock pot is n heavy use in our house right now! I need the easy, warm dinners. A blogger's trip would be so awesome! It's hard for me to travel right now with baby....but I always say that I wish we could all hang out in person. It would be so fun!

  15. So glad you got a nice long trip home to see your family! Lol, cold toilet seats are the worst for sure! We were commenting on that the other day at the gym. Hope the transition back to work today has been easy!

  16. I can't wait to hear all about your trip, it looked like you were having a blast with your family! And oh my goodness cold toilet seats are the worst! I'd totally pay to have seat warmers, even though we'd only need them for a few months. And a blogger trip would be so much fun!
